Uncharted 1 came out in 2007 so it wasn't 3 years of no exclusives like you said. :P
Honestly though I wouldn't buy a console at launch despite whatever sexy features they promise you. But I do think Sony's first party studios is at a high point right now.

The same arrogance doesn't apply with the PS4 in any sense.  It's pretty much correcting everything that Sony did wrong with the PS3's launch.  That much has already been proven.  Microsoft on the other hand... LOL. They've been nothing but arrogant and lost a shit ton of sales because of it.  I don't think you realize how many people have jumped from buying an XBOX One to buying a PS4 in a mere instant because of MS's stupidity and arrogance.  It's even worse than Sony of last generation.

They talked s***T to their fans, they talked s***T to the developers, and were using rejected alien technology and expected everyone to just learn in and make all games with PS3 optimization in mind. This gen is a complete 180: Sony and Microsoft have switch roles. They're better in Sony in one regard that they have fixed many of their major mistakes before launch but they have already lost the trust of anyone who isn't a fanboy. :) Yea DOA5U is awesome actually. The extra characters, more costumes, more stages, better music, and better training mode definitely make it a worthy purchase. I feel like it's what vanilla DOA5 should have been from the get go. It's my favorite fighting game this gen.
Dont have to wait 2 years, infamous, dark souls 2 comes out next year... And its better than m$ having games at its first year then abandoning their customers after,, lolhalogears

Microsoft is still too ignorant to realize without Kinect the darn thing would sell. But just because your a billionaire doesn't mean that you are smart. They make money because they don't care about people.
Sony will at least do better in terms of launch sales by the looks of it compared to the PS3. I'm not sure what will happen after the launch period is over, but I think a decent drop in sales will occur.Japan won't help the PS4 this gen most likely in terms of console sales anyway because consoles are becoming less popular now in japan.
