People really dont understand why PS3 is soo expensive!

i know that most of you in here know but many dont know that Bluray is the main source why the PS3 is $500-$600 dollars.

Bluray is the latest format, and just like everything else that comes out in the beggining its very expensive.

I remember when CD's first came out, they were selling for $400 dollars and higher.

But here is what you need to know right now, Bluray production costs will drop by 50% by next year and expect the PS3 to drop at least $150 dollars and that will make the PS3 cost $349 and $449 and it will be then for PS3 to start to destroy its enemies like x360 and the wii thing.

Blu-Ray wasn't needed. DVD-9's are still fine.

Final Fantasy 13 was postponed untl 2008, and Metal Gear Solid 4 wasn't on Konami's 2007 release schedule either.  So, to me thats a LOT OF MONEY just for Resistance and maybe two others.

And, well, I do see your point, but still, I don't even play on hd tv's all the time.  Honestly, I would'nt go out of my way to spend $25 (+ tax) just to watch some of the new released movies on blue ray.  (same applies for HD)

And im sure that if i was a x360 owner i would not want a cut down version of GTA.
