could you please explain to me why?

I've owned Fallout 3 for ps3 and I purchased it for pc after I got a good rig.
It's much better on the pc ofc but they game sure is'nt an eyepleaser regardless of platform.

I don't get what's so bad about the PS3 version of the game I enjoyed it very much... there is a crapload of bugs/glitches but I'm sure that is present in the other versions. And as for owning both the 360 and PS3 version of a game idk why the hell anyone would do that, but I'm sure there are reasons...[QUOTE="Filthybastrd"]I don't get what's so bad about the PS3 version of the game I enjoyed it very much... there is a crapload of bugs/glitches but I'm sure that is present in the other versions. The ps3 version got patched to be fairly bug free. I'm not saying it's a completely different game or anything like that.
It's just that the pc version has mods and scales with your system so it's automatically a better experience.
Suppose my real point was that the game looks rather crappy regardless of platform. I find that interesting because of all the old psvs360 threads. Sure the ps version was noticably worse at the time but at least on the graphical side it was obese VS massive acne.
No offense to anyone falling under either category. I just assume that it's two traits that everyone prefer being without.
I usually buy one copy of a game unless it's a game I play more often then the rest such as COD4, SF4 and NBA 2k9 (used to have 2 SC4 but sold one). Different friends on different consoles.
could you please explain to me why?

hmm, the best example I can come up for you is my friend (since as you probably know from our arguments in previoubought Cod 5 on his 360 because that is his main gaming console so he figured he should get it on that, but he also bought it on the PS3 because more of our friends own PS3's then 360s.
I know this doesnt really answer your question fully buty it may provide a small explanation.
I'm a PC gamer and my brother is a PS3 gamer, sometimes we want the same game but on our platform of preference.
Pretty much this reason. Or if people are huge fans of the game. Im a HUGE RE fan and I couldnt resist owning both versions.Maybe they have friends with both systems and wat to play with them? No one buys the same version of a game without a reason.

I have Eternal Sonata for both the 360 and PS3. I bought the 360 version in 2007 and wanted to see what updates were included with the PS3 version. Simple as that.
I bought Sacred 2 for 360 because I like XBL better. My buddy only has a PS3 so I may pick it up for that also so we can play together.
i buy many of mygames more then once
first multi plat i bought twice was the world is not enough ps1 /n64
last gen i got timesplitters 2 for all 3 and 3 for all 3 , ,
this gen so far wwe 2008 i got 4 versions -psp ps3 wii 360 ,
saints row 2 and gta ps3 360 ,, driver paralel lines-psp xbox wii ps2
nightfire -ps2 xbox gc from russia with love- xbox gc ge ra ds gc agent under fire-ps2- i got it first it didnt come to gc until gc was out , ,
and i like 007 so i also got quantum for wii and 360
r6 vegas for ps3 360 , , 1 and 2
i dont know why but its because i need more ps3 games why risk whe nbuying new things , ,i can easily go back and buy those for cheap down the road,
for me its just well , i like my wii more , nintendo to be honest, lol
if i can have it on nintendo i get it for it,
i grew up on nintendo , and sony ,, but nintendo was first and is cheaper,
microsoft got into the picture i dont know , , i just happened to get an xbox for xmas and liked it ,
ever since then its been all 3 for me , , i wont settle for less,
and as some one pointed out theres differences in some of the games in
examples
quantum of solace wii it has an exclusive offline mode to complement online, is the only version that has it
the world is not enough- hte ps1 version although bares same name goes through same story ,the levels were different, especally noticable in the first level
duke nukem total meltdown /3d /n64 each one is different ,
the ps1 version did not have multiplayer /ai noredid xbla one,
the n64 version did but the xbla /wps1 had extra levels 6 total n64 had 3 ,
timesplitters is nothing different but i liked the game to much so i said why switch systems every time i want to playit,
if i feel like playing it on xbox ill pull out an xbox if i like it on ps2 i pull out ps2 or ps3 , if i like to play gc or wii , i pull out gc or wii , ,
some may think its a waste , ,
but i dont because , while i get this i wait for other games to be cheaper ,
and get them at that time,
i dont always want to spend 60 on a new game and risk it,
also ,, timesplitters 2 , i got the gamecube version in 2002 , , when i t came out because i didnt have many gc games, in 2004 i decided to get the xbox version , due to the hard drive i can make alot of maps,
the ps2 one i got when i got my ps3 lol so i can play it as i did the xbox one ,since ps3 has a hard drive and 360 wont allow me to play ts2 ,,
i choose to get it then , ,
i got 3 all in months apart because i liked it , ,
and no its not stupid @ poster below me,
it depends, as i noted above some games have different levels ,, ,

buying a game twice is about as stupid as you can get ( go rent it and save your money )

Abit silly to call people stupid for spending their money how they wish, and maybe they have ALOT of it to spend :)
Still, just because you have a lot of money doesnt mean you can't use it stupidly. MJ was rich as hell, but he squandered his money. If I had a billion dollars and bought 30 of each console, everyone would agree thats a pretty stupid way to spend my money :PStill, just because you have a lot of money doesnt mean you can't use it stupidly. Thats a fair point, but if someone has alot of money, has both consoles, has friends who have 1 or the other console and decides to buy both versions, their not stupid. They are investing their money to have fun with their friends on both platforms :)
Even so if someone wants both versions for whatever reason, if they can afford it then fair enough, i don't think its fair to call them stupid.
I could say its stupid to spend thousands on a Ferrari when the speed limit is 70MPH, but if you can afford it why not :)
I would never buy the same version of Ps3 and 360 games...I'm a cheevehore and buy the multiplats for the 360 cheeves. Dont get me wrong, i love me some uncharted and Resistance 1/2.
I have bought the same version of a 360 game (thatI already had) againfor GFW Live, usually because the games are down to 5$ and are easy cheeves (shadowrun, kane and lynch, the club). I bought Fallout3 and GTA4 on PC/GFWLive when they hit 30$ to check out the better graphics and I must say I prefer the PC version of those 2. Plus the cheeves stack on top of the 360 ones so double GScore.

Buying a Ferrari is different from buying two of the same game. People do not buy a Ferrari due to the power for the most part. Most people who own a Ferrari buy it because its a Ferrari. You want to impress girls mainly why a guy would spend alot of money on a car. Plus since when does a speed limit stop people from driving above it. Everytime someone drives speed limit in the freeway when there is one lane there is a huge pile of cars behind it. Everyone speeds.I owned both the PS3 and 360 version of RE5. Only because my brother is a hue Sony fanboy and he wouldn't play my 360 copy. So he picked up the PS3 version funny thing about the Ps3 isn't even his LOL.
i just got both versions of blazblue so i could play people on live and psn. That isn't a waste to me since its about the onli game that i will ever play regularly since i loved Guilty Gear and played it every week. Buying both versions of a game is not a waste if u want to play with all your friends and get the best competition on both systems.
I own oblivion on ps3 and PC. I got it first on PS3 because i only had 2 gigs of ram at the time in my PC and oblivion was a bit of a B**** to run when it was first released. In the end it was a bad choice, the control, content, and visuals are much better on PC.
If i did see fallout 3 for a really cheap price on PS3 i would get it though, really like the game and would like to give it a play through on my ps3 just to see how it holds up to the PC version first hand.
