So people complain about DLC, and I dont see why.

Back in the 80-90's games were almost $90-120, and had no where near the amout of depth as games do now. and most of the time your paying for add ons to an add on: multiplayer.

Also, you dont have to buy it.

Opinions?

The more succesful DLC is, the more DLC will appear.

So basically, unless you want 10 map packs per game, complaining about them is perfectly valid.

Huge exaggeration there, there were a couple N64 games that were $70, but they never went beyond that. Most games were $50 and devs supported their games after release...for free...well PC devs did.

The idea of DLC is good, the way its being used is not. These publishers that we have to deal with are AWFUL. Mass Effect 3 clearly had canon content that obviously should have been in the game cut out for DLC.

Capcom, EA, Activision are really bad about this, we need to get rid of it.

Developers are locking content and trying to sell them as DLC, for example, Crapcom.

Some DLC like map packs split the multiplayer community.

Most DLCs packs are expensive short campaigns that only last for 2 hours or even less.

Dunno if in the past games were more expensive but at least you could do challenges for unlock characters, skins, weapons and all of that. Now, on most games, you must pay for unlock them.

Has anyone seen the Sleeping Dogs DLC? Now that is a rip off.

I'd be be happy to pay for DLC like the GTA episodes or the new Dark Souls content.

  1. Not a high enough level to create threads.
  2. You are an idiot.
  3. DLC are like games, they range from sh*t to excellent.
  4. Take your pick.
