:D Im sure we have a few fans of the Shin Megami Tensei series on the boards. All of the games have such a great feel, music and a so enjoyable to play I always get extremely wrapped up in them. Persona 3 is very unique in the way it plays giving the player plenty of choices to live the game how you want to... Its relaxing to work on the social aspects of the game which almost play like harvest moon.

When were talking about the best JRPGs... constantly Final Fantasy is mentioned. I have played this series since the original and its just simply lost its touch... its geared towards 12-15yos, while Persona 3 and the other SMT games touch on interesting, disturbing and mature subjects that are generally taboo.

I recently had the chance to play through the blue dragon and eternal sononata demos. Im happy these games are coming... and both have next gen graphics etc, but blue dragon seemed very kiddy to me, and eternal sononata is very mediocre... thats not a bad thing for these games but reality is Persona 3 is just better.

Im currently split down the middle between this game and bioshock. One of the biggest blows to the PS3 and reasons I would not purchase one, is the lack of a confirmed SMT game on the platform.I believe Atlus is focusing on the Wii in the future with their success of trauma center.

The second you classified Persona 3 as a Megaten game I realized that I'm sadder then I thought about them stapling the SMT name on there. SIiiiiiiiigh. It is a good game though.

I realize its not a megeten game... however its being marketed that way in the US for name recognition... obviously there are similiarities as the art style, music and general feel are all pretty similiar. Shin Megami Tensei 4 when released will be epic, and the previous title was clearly the best JRPG on the PS2... sorry but FF12 was pretty weak, so I just dont understand the massive hype for FF13.

The games all have collectible status, and I find them hard to part with... Digital Devil Saga 1 especially being it has the hardest RPG boss ever with ana amazing vocal cast from cowboy bebop. I have a mint copy of Persona 2 if your looking.

no its a JRPG... but its very original.Picture this... you wake up every day, you have a bunch of tasks that you get yourself into.. i.e. hanging out with your friends, or joining the swim team... depending on how hard you push yourself, you may or may not decide to explore the combat areas at night... You dont have to fight, you can stay up all night studying or just go to sleep lol. Its very addicting.

so you might just decide to go out at night instead of fighting... go to get some ramen noodles or to the coffee shop which would level up your personality traits... which in turn gives you better bonds with your peronas (summons) based on the type.

There is, but its done in such a way that it blends in with daily social life. Like you might get home from school on a full moon and all **** breaks lose and monsters are running around town and its your job to bust a cap. You're like ghostbusters, but kids, and more awesome. Its uh.....much more indepth than that.

Shortened way of saying Shin Megami Tensei. Also, yes, it is a megaten game, it is a spin-off series.

Interesting. I don't think I've heard of this game before, but it looks cool.

To the FF part: I've been a fan for years, and I agree that ff12 wasn't that great. I don't think the battle system worked well.
