Persona 3 Portable Announced.

"The port is due November 1st 2009, and will feature a number of changes, the most notable of which is that the protagonist will be a female instead of the previous male.

Additionally, an entirely new character is promised, looking to be a male version of Elizabeth; some gameplay additions in the form of new difficulty levels are also promised."

Yeah theres already a thread on it here somewhere. Theres also a confirmation that battles will allow you to control all memebers.

Sounds good to me, albeit I hope for a good deal to be different since I already went through this entry with P3 and P3FES. Odd that they skipped 2, wonder if they have that planned out already.

Not that it mattes, Persona is freaking awesome and this is good news.

They just need to release 2 and put it over in the PS Store.. Glad they're releasing a portable version, but I don't have a PSP.

So from the looks this is going to be an Enhanced remake like the Disgaea PSP games.

Damn, I really loved Persona 3 on the PS2 so I may have to play this one if there's a possiblity of an altered story.

I'm curious now, will this just be a port of Persona 3, or will it include all the bonus stuff from FES?

I'm not calling it a remake either, but I'd assume since you're playing a character of a different sex, the social links will be changed and so will the dialogue of some of the scenes.

Persona 3 Portable is based around the main scenario of Persona 3 Fes, but Atlus is adding a whole lot to make this more than just a port. The biggest change appears to be the ability to select between male and female main characters. The newly added female main character offers different events and character relationships from the male character. Even the male character scenario will be seeing new elements, including visual changes to some Personas.

Other new elements include the ability to select between five difficulty levels: beginner, easy, normal, hard, and maniacs. Movement through the game world has been simplified, as you can now select a destination directly from a menu and be transported there instantly. During battle, you now have the option of directly issuing commands to all your ally characters.

You know what companies should do? Take all the old PS2 RPGs and re-release them on PSP. I sure as hell would buy them as I love playing RPGs on the go. I would say do the same for PS1 games, but now with the PS1 emulator, there is no need.II_Seraphim_II

Persona 3 is one of my favourite PS2 games, so I'll definitely be getting this.
