Persona 5 announced Exclusively for PS3

Well its happening and while its sad its not for the PS4 i guess we can hope we'll see it on Gaikai next year playable on PS4 ( assuming the localization process wont take till 2015 )

I am excited but I will wait till I can play it on ps4 in some form. Which is hopefully around it it is released in NA anyways.

Pretty much as expected... There was never any chance of Atlus jumping on PS4 so quickly.

Im just glad PS4 has Gaikai because if they make it work well we'll be able to play some of those PS3 games on the PS4 with that superior controller :D

if not i look forward to playing it on PS3 though localization is always the worst part because we may not see the game till 2015 or early 2016 in English :(

Yep the localization process is always the worst part cuz it may take a year, two or even 3 years after the Japanese version sadly.

@lamprey263: yea but it came out on vita later which is where I first played it.

Persona 4 came out in Japan in July 08 and was localized by December.

The only way it takes 2-3 years is if Sega is involved in the localization.

@syztem: hopefully sega just let's Altus do their thing. Getting it localized has to be a big priority persona games have a huge following in NA and sell very well, it's not just a niche market anymore.

actually according to sources Persona 4's Localization was pretty quick.

• Released in Japan July 10th 2008
• Released in NA Dec 9th 2008
• Released in EU Mar. 13th 2009

and it took almost the same amount of time for the Vita Upgrade

• JP June 14th 2012
• NA Nov. 20th 2012
• EU Feb. 22 2013

There's about a 5 month gap between the two releases. and 8 months for Europe. If we take Shin Megami Tensei IV to account the NA region should get the game within that 8 month period if not sooner. (sorry EU guys, you may have to wait forever for P5.)

late 2015 release for NA I bet... Not happy about this at all. Japan devs are the slowest of the slowest ever. And to mention the blurry 720p... And even worse, not even a peek at the art-style of a game that has been in development since the beginning of last gen. The PS3 really fucked up all these smaller dev teams like Persona's and The Last Guardian's.

But seriously, I'm impressed by Finalstar. This guy can smell the disgusting weaboo filth from a mile away.

Well, it's PS3, so at least I can import if Atlus and Sega treat us Europeans as second class citizens again.

I only mentioned that the PS3 had been out two years to illustrate how having a next gen system available doesn't mean the game will be made for it

if you want to guarantee it gets ported to the PS4, buy the game when it releases, and don't buy it used, or sell it used for that matter, if it sells enough they'll port it where they think it'll make them more money

Why you wanna play it over Gaikai on PS4. Just play it on ps3

Oh man i sure hope the same will happen with Persona 5 then because 5 months is not bad at all! ( seriously thought it took over a year forP4 to get localized )

Buying this 100% on day 1 but here's hoping Atlus/Sega will support it and have it on Gaikai to be playable on PS4 too so that those who want to play on the PS4 will have the option to do so ( cuz from what i understand 3rd party publishers/developers will have the right to use services like Gaikai and sony has nothing to do with putting the game there or not ).

Oh jesus christ Atlus. They spent this whole generation on PS2 and now when next gen is out they finally move on to PS3. Hopefully this will be the last game they release this generation and move on ASAP. Excited for the game but its a damn shame when you think what it could have been on PS4.

Playstation 3 just keep getting more games. Lemmings have no choice but to upgrade to XBone if they want to play any games. Even if they upgrade to Xbone, they're stuck with playing flops.

Like it would matter if Persona released on the PS4. Persona 4 released on the PS2 well after a year the PS3 was in the market.

A lot of games are releasing on the PS3 next year which is even more reason for people to keep their PS3's from Kingdom Hearts to FF lighting to 2 Tales games the PS3 library keeps getting bigger and bigger which is sweet! heck even a new Ar Tonelico game has been announced :D

Yeah this happened with the PS2 as well. A lot of cool and hidden Gems released on the PS2 toward the end of the cycle, and it's mostly because of this that I never take up on Game Stop's offers to trade in Consoles.

PS3 are you serious? By the time this thing gets localized my ps3 will be collecting dust in the back of the closet.

Hopefully i can play it through Gaikai.
