Okay, was bored, so decided to do a little side by side comparison...
Just note my TV is a Panasonic Plasma 42PZ77U (42 inches)
Everything is set at default in terms of console settings meaning anything you could change regarding video settings have been defaulted (360 black level..etc..)
The TV is running at 1080p for both systems, using an HDMI cable (same cable brand and length)...
Also both HDMI ports are running at the same Settings regarding brightness, color, tint, and sharpness...both were optimized using the THX calibration disc.
Now right of the bat I didnt notice a big difference, nothing mind blowing. But heres what I discovered...
PS3 isnt as sharp as the 360...it has kind of a blurred effect, and because of this the colors dont "pop" like the 360 version and seem slightly washed out...This is real evident, in the times demo, when you enter the first door...
The light above the door is a lot brighter than the PS3 version, and its even more evident, when you walk towards the middle, and look at the staircase with the windows in view (with the sun shining through the windows)
But wait, because of this "blurred" effect it seems edges are more softer, or what we would call less "jaggies" in the PS3 version...but were talking a miniscule difference, the difference isnt as big as the color vividness difference.
Now dont get confused, I dont know if the lighting is better on the 360 , I never really tested farther than the first room, its not really a lighting thing in this room, its a color thing, and how they seem a lot brighter and therefore more vivid.
So in terms of graphics, Im gonna say they are about even, with a slight edge going to the PS3 (softer edges) but in terms of color vividness the 360 wins hands down. So it depends on what you want...less jaggies, with an slight overall "blurry" (blurry isnt necesarrily bad) experience with the PS3, or a sharper (meaning slightly more jaggies) and more colorful experience with the 360.
Interesting find: During the cutscenes, the PS3s screen fills up my screen to wheres I have maybe 1/2 inch of black bars on the top and bottom..the 360 gives me an full inch of black bars top and bottom. So a more filled up screen during cutscenes on the PS3
Controls: The PS3 controller feels a lot more comfortable here, mainly because of the R1 button.
I will be picking up the 360 version, as I can get used to the controls, and with achievments and rumble its an easy choice for me. The graphic comparision is not enough to sway me either way, because they both look great on both systems, and honestly, your not gonna notice unless you run them side by side.
