Hi everybody. As you may or may not know, the highly rated fighting game BlazBlue has been released for the Xbox 360 and the PS3. A lot of Wii owners have felt shunted because they keep missing some great multiplats on the 360/PS3. Now some of these games obviously would not be possible on Wii without obvious downgrades (Call of Duty: World at War for example). These games simply can't be ported over simply because it would be a blatantly inferior product.

However, BlazBlue is a different kind of game. What makes it so beautiful is not how many polygons are on the screen, but the inspired artistic style. Many of you are probably wondering how controls would work, seeing as the Wiimote and nunchuck isn't ideal for fighters. Well, you could use either the classic controller or an arcade stick. Minus the HD graphics, I see no other downgrades in this title. Therefore, I see no reason why the Wii should be missing out on such a great game.

If the Wii can pull off games like Super Mario Galaxy, then it certainly is capable of playing BlazBlue, it's just a matter of them deciding to port it over. To those who say a port could never happen, the creators of BlazBlue have released two Guilty Gear games (one of their other fighting franchises) onto Nintendo's console.

So, if you would like BlazBlue to be released on the Wii, please post here and let your voice be heard!

If i put BlazVlue into my wii, its awesomeness would explode the console lol. The wii can't handle the games graphics. Just get a console that its meant to be played on instead of wanting HD hand me downs.

That would be cool, but they need to downgrade it of course, and I rather see this game come to PC.

other than being in HD, the game's a 2d fighting game. i doubt it would be hard for the wii to run it though i agree with you anyway, we shouldn't be asking for hand me downs.

They would have to sacrafice too much of the BlazBlu experience to bring it over to the Wii, not worth it imo.

why would you want to use a controller on a Wii? that really defeats the whole wii experience and on that wouldnt a joystick cost like 80-100 doollars? people really want to pay that much for a downgraded version? :S not i good sir

if defeating the purpose means not having to use imprecised waggle controls for a 2d fighting game then so be it

I don't know, maybe you are right. If it looked good I wouldn't mind lol. Not sure how a late port would do though. I assume not well.

I mean, there is a chance. They even released a Guilty Gear in May for the Wii, which used the classic controller. It had the option of the nunchuck and wiimote, but that's obviously not your best choice for a fighting game

World of Goo would most likely not work well with the duel analog, so maybe that why 360/PS3 owners didn't form a petition for WoG on 360/PS3.>_>

Oh I sure it can. Guilty Gear seem to be fine with the classic controller, heck even the gamecube controller. Plus there the arcade stick you can get.

Tatsunoko sold 100k so far, 25k opening week. BlazBlue has already done 50k FIRST week and had a stronger opening on the 360 with roughly 27k.

I don't know, I never gotten the arcade stick. But yes there is a arcade stick for the Wii:

Maybe Capcom will come out with a Tatsunoko vs. Capcom theme arcade stick when the game comes out.

Wow, i'm surprised so many people are talking about blazblue. Before it got high scores i already wanted to play this game because of guilty gear. I played guilty gear AC nonstop for the past two years, btw. It seems like people look at scores before they play games nowadays, sigh*.

I seriously doubt it coming to the Wii. The game was designed with an arcade machine that's a lot more powerful than the Wii. They would have to completely redraw the sprites. I'm pretty sure Arc Systems would rather make another game instead of a port. Besides go play Accent Core Plus. It's on the Wii.

Why don't you buy a PS3 or a 360 topic creator? If you are missing out on all these multiplats, then maybe you bought the wrong console.

MrSlippery39

I'm just acknowledging that there are a lot of games that Wii owners don't get. I'm not asking companies to bring every game to the Wii, just BlazBlue because this game CAN feasibly be done on this system. It's not like I'm asking for MGS4 to be on the Wii or anything like that.

It may not be feasibly portable.

I'm not sure to what extent they use the processor for physics or the like, but i'm sure if they could port a multiplat to the wii without massive effort they would.

then again they did not port tekken 5 : DR and that wouldn't be that hard, so much of the game is straight C++ even on the arcade board.

It might just be that the Wii doesn't have a large market for this sort of game, does anyone know how popular the GG port was?

Sadly blazblue isn't a game most wii owners would want. Most wii owners wont know what it is. Most wii owners wouldn't give it a second look. That's why it's on the 360/PS3.

Nintendo targeted a different audience, one that hasn't touched a fighter before in their lives.

I own a Wii, so this isn't a fanboy comment, but porting BlazBlue to anything below HD should be a crime.

Yeah, that part is never a challenge.

But we don't know how hard it would be to port it otherwise.

They all share the same instruction set, but it might be at the core optimized for multithreaded, multicore processors and require some rewriting or something that may be a bigger investment then we are assuming.

I don't know if they would leave the wii out of an already multiplat title if it was easy to do.
