It's one of the most fun games I have played on the 360. I have only played the online demo so far, but I am definitely getting the retail version. It's very fun to play online, and way way way underrated. IMO, it's alot better than boring World of Warcraft.

I like it but I'm not prepared to pay the extra subscription for it.

Phantasy Star Online is, in every way that it's possible to be better, a better game. The 360 version of PSU is a joke, it's a poorly executed port of a PS2 game, and carries over every negative feature. Lack of offline split-screen multiplayer or free online co-op seals the deal as far as I'm concerned.

Sega botched this title - PSO on the Dreamcast was free to play online - when they started charging with v2 it was questionable, when they charged for what is essentially four player co-op on the PS2 / PC / 360, I had to say "forget this".

aye, the gameplay isn't enough to warrant the price compared to a title like FFXI.

Not worth the fee IMO. It's like guild wars in the fact it isn't a true MMO, plus I agree with most other people in that PSO was way better. I loved magic characters, and when I found out you needed to tie a weapon to magic spells, and couldn't cast unarmed for faster casting time I knew the game wasn't for me.

Very disappointed as I purchased and played for some months upon PSU 360 release !

PSO - the original on DC was the real deal and Sega should be ashamed to charge a 8.99 monthly fee for this remake and a poor remake it is.

I can almost say nobody was more hyped for this then me but what's been delivered is a big... MEH ! :(

I never played PSO. But IMO, PSU is a great game, and one of the most fun games on 360 right now. I hope more MMORPGs come out for 360 in the future.

I can see if you have never played it before liking it. I think it still has a decent sized community. I know its addictive. But I only played the Dreamcast version a long time ago and I guess I don't have the right mindset for it. One of my friends went gaga over it though he was totally hooked on the concept.

I think people that like MMORPG's and games like Diablo have a certain kind of mental "illness" or maybe just inclination towards being a pack rat or something.

I agree, I owned the Dreamcast/Gamecube and then finally the Xbox version of PSO and I loved them all.

Sega dropped the ball with PSU, I was really looking forward to it.

Yeah me too. I actually enjoyed the episodic style of single player, and being a PSO vet I'm sure the online would have at least been fun, but I just can't justify paying for the hunter's license.

It truely is disgusting how they made the Playstation 2 the lead console, there should never have been a Playstation 2 version.

Sega just trying to make a quick buck at the expensive of another one time respected franchise.

Phantasy Star joins the ranks of Shining Force and Sonic now.

It really isn't worth it, I grit my teeth and went along with it for PSO for the Xbox. But I'll be damned if I have to pay a fee for PSU.

Oh how far Sega have fallen.

It's really pretty awful. It's not even as good as PSO and has the same ancient game design which was awesome back in the Dreamcast days but junk today.

It's not really an MMORPG though. There's nothing massive about it

I didn't like Phantasy Star..only because I felt that it was repetative when trying to build your character. Playing an MMO is always cool though.

Nah, its just a moniker, I actually picked it because I loved the Kodiak mech so much in Mechwarrior Ghost Bears Legacy for PC. I'm not hardcore enough to live in Alaska.

PSU is just painfully awful from the outdated gameplay, the barebones classes, the piss poor mission structure, the horrible single player, the boring and broken party system, a craptastic economy and more. To even compare this game to a well polished and full fledged MMO like World of Warcraft is just beyond silly and inaccurate.

PSU is possibly one of the worst online RPGs I've ever played. It spits on the face of the Phantasy Star franchise.
