Phil Harrison: It's about games. CLEARLY, Xbox One has the better games.

Phil Harrison On Oct. 1, Microsofts Phil Harrison, corporate vice president, spoke to Edge about the PS4 and how he feels about the Xbox One stacks up against the competition. Harrison voiced that the number of gigaflops or teraflops never really matter. Instead of focusing on raw power, it is about having the best games and best experiences. Harrison believes that it is clear the Xbox One has the best games. "Every platform I've ever been involved in somebody has said 'oh, this has got more gigaflops or more teraflops than the other one,' and at the end of the day it never really matters," Harrison said. "It's all about having the best games and having the most impressive experiences, and clearly Xbox One has the best games." When asked if he has heard any such feedback from developers, Harrison went on to say that any time that you ask a developer including, by the way, our own internal studios in the run up to launch of a console youre going to get a slightly nuanced answer because the operating systems not finished, the performance of the machines not locked, and as you may be aware we can increase CPU and GPU capability on Xbox One.

In the forseeable future, both these systems have pretty shitty upcoming line ups. Just me though.

I don't generally care for what Harrison says anymore. He spouted out some of the most random or exaggerated crap even when he worked for Sony.

But everyone can make up their own mind. I've seen and played games on both consoles - it's a no contest for me. There's a clear winner. 

Sony don't have to respond. How many retail exclusives do they have for launch again? Killzone, Knack and Driveclub etc. Yet they're still destroying Microsoft in pre-orders.

They aren't pulling a Sony, and relying on a rehashed shooter to get them through the holidays which makes the Xbox One the clear winner for gamers this holiday season.

nope. launch titles are shit on both, 1st party is light years ahead of none existent xbone 1st party so you know ps4 will have much better games, x1 is 50% less powerful and cost $100 more... /dealwithitphilsilversix_

I see cows like jon have nothing but to talk about TC rather than the dogshit lineup of the ps4.  XBO has better games clearly, better looking games, and more fun games announced.   Deepdown was the big heavy hitter for ps4 at one time.  I guess a year for ps4 first aaae.  Jist like last gen.  Forza 5 AAAE righr off the bat.

Launch titles, yeah I think the Xbone has better games. As far as I'm concerned the PS4 only has 2, KZ:SF and Driveclub (not including indies of course). While I'm excited for KZ:SF, I see myself going back to my PS3 when I'm bored of KZ.

I agree with him and that's why I'm buying a PS4. Sony is good about supporting thier systems for quite a long time. Their launchs usually suck, but they can keep a system alive well into their next systems life span. 

If Microsoft holds true to their promise of supporting the XboxOne for 10 years, maybe then I'll consider them next time around. And I mean supporting like Sony does with new Ips throughout the systems life span.

yes, as far as launch goes the X1 does have a clear advantage, though in the long run I think Sony will pull ahead, besides the power advantage I think Sony is going to really pull ahead in unit sales, and will probably find many exclusives tailored to it as a resultlamprey263
