Pikmin 3 sells 100k units in the US

Well you decide - the original sold almost 10-times more and the Cube wasn't exactly a very popular system to begin with.

It seems the Wii U is becomming a niche system rather than a system with broad appeal like Nintendo were hoping for and the system with the actual broad appeal is the - PS4.

but really all they did was upscale the resolution on the last pikmin and re release the same thing so maybe they deserve to fail.

Yeah let's compare lifetime numbers to numbers of a month. I'm also pretty sure Pikmin didn't sell 1 million in the US.

Well the time period is one month but I think the sales will cool down with time rather than significantly increase.

Well the time period is one month but I think the sales will cool down with time rather than significantly increase.

Edit: Well they won't increase but they can keep selling if the Wii U picks up. So most likely it won't reach pikmin Gamecube numbers

It seems rather than becoming more and more open to new ideas or (old ones as Pikimin is) American gamers prefer the Call Of Dutys and GTA rehashes. No surprise really. Glad i'm in Europe with all the open minded gamers.

If we're talking Smash/Mario/Kart/Zelda, then yes.

But not all franchise are equally successful. (the above-mentioned Pikmin is an example)

Sales are low because there are only about 1.5 million Wii U's sold in the U.S. I think. I would expect this game will sell closer to 500K as the holidays quickly approach.

It's not just Nintendo.

Every new console that was launched: 3DS, PSV and WiiU were all called flops and DOA because they had a slow start. Sure, the PSV and WiiU still have a long way to go but the 3DS has become a success. I'm sure the PS4 and Xbone will be called flops too if they don't sell billions on launch day.

Everyone has become an expert it seems on how much a game or console should sell and how fast. What a joke, this is a time where there is a lot of competition in gaming. There are more ways to game than ever before.

I think that article is outdated or misinformed. I found it sitting at almost 200,000 as of last week. It's only been out a month so I feel like that's plenty good considering that the system is only now getting into the swing of things.

Great god damned game too. Next to The Last of Us it's easily my GotY so far. Brilliant.
