Face it, it's the piracy that's huring Console gaming the most, not the PC.

Yet piracy is really rampant on the Console. It's really easy to download games via torrent sites and obviously the last thing the publishers and the devs want to see is their million dollar games getting sucked down by the pirates.

Do you know how easy it is to get games for consoles illegally? You see on the console there is no CD key no install time just download copy and play. While you may need to install some illegal software to make this work guess what its easy to do.

If you look in the right places you can see the piracy is CRAZY on the consoles not just the PC And that includes the Handhelds nintendo DS/3DS and the PSP

piracy is just as bad on consoles as it is on PC and thats all there is to it.

I would argue that's false. And PSP/DS/3Ds aren't consoles they are handhelds.

Well they arnt PC so it still counts. Do a google search for your console of choice and then like game downloads you will see just how hard core piracy is on the consoles its just as bad as PC if not worse because there is no CD Key No install time. just download and play.

Usually they're grouped together when all those comparison charts are made.

This is quite possibly the most desperate attempt at a thread I have ever seen. I mean, really, something to blatantly false.

A video game console is an interactive entertainment computer or modified computer system that produces a video display signal which can be used with a display device (a television, monitor, etc.) to display a video game. The term "video game console" is used to distinguish a machine designed for consumers to buy and use solely for playing video games from a personal computer.

I would argue that Handheld Consoles are more consoles than Home-based Consoles (which are now considered multi-media machines by Sony and Microsoft).

Well then this will give you a headache.... total 'video games' sales include PCs, consoles, handhelds, etc.

I just find it laughable people want to group handhelds and consoles in one group.

Whatever. I could care less.

A handheld game console is a lightweight, portable electronic device with a built-in screen, game controls and speakers.Handheld game consoles are run on machines of small size allowing people to carry them and play them at any time or place. Unlike video game consoles, the controls, screen and speakers are all part of a single unit.

They still fall under the same definition of a CONSOLE. Of course you can go deeper and specific. >.>

No. They are clearly two different items.

Look, I don't really care. Grouping them together obviously does something for you. So let's just go with it.

Neither is being killed by piracy.. Whats having a serious impact is the extreme expectation of graphics which is leading to many of these game developments to skimping in other areas due to budget and time issues.. I AM SICK OF THE DAMNED graphic debate, they ALL LOOK good.. In the end of the day the games people go back to play over and over again, or continue playing for hundreds of hours are rarely if ever graphically amazing.. These huge development costs are stagnating progress half the time in which companies are not willing to take risks and rather stick to the tried and true method..

On PC you download the game, install it and copy over a crack to the install directory. On console (PS3 for example) you have to hack your console, download the huge uncompressed files (sometimes 40GB+ compared to PC 6-10GB), then burn the file to a bluray which cost money for the disk and a very expensive bluray burning drive.

The definistion of a computer from dictionary.com is as follows :

"An electronic device designed to accept data, perform prescribed mathematical and logical operations at high speed, and display the reults of these operations."

Under that definition would not all console/handhelds be clarified as computers using the logic of a vague definition as clasification?
