So we are now starting October. Any of you guys planning to play some horror games for this month?
I'm going to play some classic Castlevania games, and the dlcs for both Resident Evil Village and Resident Evil 4 Remake.
No, I probably should though. I like scary games. Or rather, I want to like scary games, but I'm too chicken.
Tried playing The Bunker and had to quit.
It's funny though because I love scary movies.
Any recommendations?
Next horror vidya be playing is The Thing Remaster.
Underrated game every asshole on planet earth forgot about.
Every October, I call it my 31 on 31 horror gaming month as every weekend I do at least 3 horror gaming and even the one's I've already beat because some horrors is just that damn good.
This month, it's gonna be Silent Hill 2 Remake which is coming out Oct 8th, a nice welcome to the 31 on 31 and couldn't be more excited for. Next up, I'm going back to Callisto Protocol a long with the DLC as I never bother to play until now after getting it on a sale. And finally, The Evil Within 2 as I always had it in my GoG library but never got around playing it despite I really like the first game.
Considering we just had what might be a "Franz Ferdinand Moment" in the Middle East yesterday, I think I'm going to play something soothing instead. Enough horror in real life, thanks.
Yes. I’m playing primordial. It’s not horror, but it’s got weird vibes of an apocalyptic future.
I hate to use this term, but so far it reminds me of planet of the apes.
@poarstman: those games are the go to for horror reliance. I think you got all big name games there.
I have some games I might play including Outlast Trials which I'm still working through, Remothered Broken Porcelain, Remothered Tormented Fathers, and possibly RetroRealms Halloween and The Evil Dead. Then again I think the haunting event on CoD works as well and that covers MWIII and BO6 both covering separate events.
Wrapped up Star Wars Outlaws over the weekend and started Space Marine 2.
People really aren't kidding with this game, it's really good and it feels like it's taking the best parts out of older games I loved.
Once I'm done with Space Marine 2 (and hopefully lots of hours in coop) it should be time for Silent hill 2
Spooky
Yes, I will play the Resident Evil 4 remake. I don't know if I'll have time for anything else, but if I do, I'll try the Dead Space remake as well. 😀
Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia. i will probably be playing it to the end of the month. Unless I beat it early. I'm at %55.60 percent.
I’m definitely excited to play horror games this month! Silent Hill 2 Remake on Day 1 baby! I also want Until Dawn, but don’t think I would paid full price. Hopefully Black Friday discount!
Just going through my switch and forgot that I downloaded re 4 might dip into that at some point during the month.
Not because of the month, just a coincidence, but recently I picked up Dead Space Remake for cheap so that
Maybe. Tempted to play Resident Evil 2, 3 or 4 remakes, or Silent Hill 2 remake. But I am a scared like a cat. Last horror game I played was Dead Space Remake last year and that had several jumpscares which I hated
Love horror games. Alan Wake 2 made last Halloween season pretty awesome. I'm excited I get to continue that with the AW2 DLC when that drops.
For now I'll continue the SH2R, which has been really good
I'm going to finish this month of playing Castlevania Rondo of Blood and Bloodlines.
I already played Castlevania 1, 3, and 4 before so Rondo of Blood and Bloodlines are the final horror themed games that I will play at the end of Halloween.
BTW I know that this thread hasn't been posted for over two weeks so I apologize to the mods if I'm not allowed to most a new comment here but I felt that making another topic with the same question would be pointless.
I like the idea of playing scary games during the Autumn, before Halloween day, but that's about it for me. I just like the idea. I never commit to doing anything. Been playing Shadow of the Erdtree these past five days. :3
I've been playing The Killing Antidote early access. Like sexy Resident Evil but with dress-up. It's fantastic. It's very well made so far and really satisfying to play.
I'm 11 chapters into the Evil Within, gotta say the game is not as good as I was hoping it to be.
The game still looks pretty thanks to idTech and you can tell some real effort and talent went into it, but it's just built on setpiece after setpiece without grounding these things first (how scary is a monster that pops up out of nowhere and wasn't properly explained, nah give me Alien slow tension building)
I feel a lot of what I like about the game goes down the drain when I'm met with the insane difficulty spikes. Like one part is easy, and then the next part you just insta die... what.
It's not a bad game, but at this point I'm just finishing it because I want to move on to the sequel.
@R4gn4r0k:
While I liked EW1, I liked the second game a lot more. I thought it was scarier and better put together, and relied a lot less on the cheap feeling insta-deaths in the first game. I also loved exploring the open world and I also played it on the hard difficulty which made for a satisfying and challenging experience.
