Yeah, looks like it's a solid machine which is great to know. I still wish the price was cheaper though so I could get my hands on it quicker.

Is there even a critically acclaimed sure-fire fail for the PS3? Like the PS2's "Disk Read Error" or the 360's 3 Red Rings?

Well it's definitely not going through the PS2's problems(Not that I believe in them) . You have to hand it to Sony... They were able to create a very powerfull and expensive console, with at least a very good reliabillity percentage.

You need to get back on the meds. Just because you stop having "cow logic" for a few weeks does not mean you are cured. I am sorry but you will have to keep up the medication regimen.

While retailers reckon that 33% of 360 owners are plagued with the Red Ring of Death (or 3 Red Lights of Doom), only 1% of PS3 owners are returning faulty consoles.

An EB games associate said to Ripten: "Failure rates for all other consoles were not high enough for EB to consider revising their policies. Most other console systems have a failure rate of less than one percent, including the PlayStation 3."

The 360, although selling well, is becoming (in)famous for not only giving up the ghost after the warranty expires, but also scratching discs if not being careful. The PS3 has not been plagued with any recurring problems, and the retailers' figures seem to support this.

So the PS3 may be more expensive, but at least you will only have to buy one.

No, sony's hardware fails after the warrenty is up, and they make you pay for them

MS fixes them for free and helps out in every way possible

Ive had 3 360's now (on my 3rd) and its been reletively simple to trade it in, I miss what a week of gaming, compared to having no gaming at all really (this is a joke at the PS3 not having games, laugh fool)

I bet you that the ps3 will never have the same issue as the the red ring of death. I challenge you to find a ps2 that wont turn on. the lasers fail but they always work, so ps3's lasers may die but replacing a laser is much cheaper than the whole system when the chips cook themselves.

Who needs hardware reliability when you can play 'console exclusive' titles that are exceptional! Of course, y'know, things break. TekkenMaster606

But you need GAMES to play on that console. Something the PS3 is lacking in. But, at least you can get a multiplat 1 year after released on the 360.
