Today when I was reading a mass of articles all focused around PlayStation 3 "controversy" I realized that despite any sales numbers, the PS3 is the most desired console. Why are there so many people still caught up and obsessive over the PS3 when they supposedly don't want it? If you aren't interested in something you usually ignore it and move on, right? Why is there so much PS3-denial? I'm not attempting to brew something up here, it's a legitamate observation of opinions that seem out of place. henry_the_horse
Who knows, I think its a geographic thing as far as the PS3's popularity. Where I live (NYC) tons of people like the PS3 and Xbox 360. When i'm on xbox live though its very rare I meet someone from NYC or New York state for that matter most of them are from TX, CA or some small state. While on PSN I met a ton of people from NYC and Boston.Â

Noone is obsesed with PS3, when FF13 comes on 360 noone will ever buy one again
[QUOTE="iunderstand"]Or maybe PS2 was a great console and people were expecting a little more out of Sony?OXIIIIXO
The PS3 is great, it only has a high price. The high price leads us to some other things, but lets not ge into that.
Anybody can put together a great console, it's Sony's fault for not thinking of the consoles price and the consumers reaction ahead of time.[QUOTE="henry_the_horse"]Today when I was reading a mass of articles all focused around PlayStation 3 "controversy" I realized that despite any sales numbers, the PS3 is the most desired console. You don't think there's an obsessive amount of talk over the PS3? It is possibily the most talked about and debated electronic ever released. People that don't even own it and swear they'll never get one still feel they need to go on and on about it, what's the point if you don't want it?

I personally feel the need to go on and on about it, because Sony is so full of sh*t, and yet somehow you can find people who believe what they say. From their PR people straight to the top, Sony is an idiotic company, built on the idea that every once in a while they'll release a high quality product, and the rest of the time they'll depend on b.s. and smoke and mirrors to sell to the public.
I wouldn't have a problem with the PS3 if it wasn't so overhyped, but to hear Sony people talk, they've released a system better than any PC for the next 10 years, and light years ahead of the 360 in terms of power. They were in such a rush to get blu-ray in to people's homes that instead of including a bd-rom drive that reads faster than current dvd-rom drives, they included one that runs slightly slower (when theoretically bd has much more bandwidth than dvd). They claim that they offer the only "True-HD" solution, and then they release very few games in said resolution, and don't even include HD cables with their system. After hearing about the Wii, they scrap their initial controller design, throw in a Wiimote rip-off, and then tack it on to a controller that is essentially 2 generations old. They claim that said controller can't be designed with rumble (Wiimote seems to disagree), and that rumble is "last gen" anyway, and then they turn around and settle a lawsuit with Immersion, and, what a surprise, rumble is suddenly "this gen", and they're working on putting it back into the controller!
To summarize (yeah I realize this was a little long), I wouldn't mind Sony nearly as much if they were humble and up-front about what they were doing. But the fact that they lie and lie and lie some more, and then Sony fanboys eat it up...Well, it's a little annoying.

nanos, you are the only one who writes drivel like that. FF13? Geez man, give it a rest, it's literally been a year, and nothing so far. Be happy with what the Xbox 360 actually has, and stop dreaming of PS games, they come or they don't....but pining for them? Lordy.
People bashing the ps3 most likely just can't afford it and are envious of those that can, so they lash out like they hate it to cover up their deep seated jealousy imo. If I don't like something I say so and move on I don't spend alot of time on it unless it directly affects me. ChiChiMonKilla
That may be true, but there are plenty of people (like myself) who have both a 360 and a Wii, among other things, who still hate the PS3. It may be overpriced, but price is not what stops me from liking it.

Why would you hate the ps3 did it drop on your foot or smack your cat??
I don't get it if you don't like it don't buy it simple no??
When I bought a used m3 I loved it but the ricers at work hated it coming up with all kinds of reasons why they hated the m3. You know why they hate my m3 right the price. I said if I offered a even swap my m3 for your evo or civic would you take it and all of a sudden they stopped talking. If I can't afford something like a Rolex oyster perpetual submariner cause I have other bills that does not mean I am going to say it sucks my Seiko black monster is just as good and cost less. It simply means all I can afford now is a Seiko but I want a Rolex. Â

After looking at the games you own I see you represent the new age of gaming. Someone who only knows PC & Xbox, that's it. You're leading the downfall of video gaming which began with Microsoft's release of the original Xbox causing video games to jump the shark. Thanks to MS intellegent games like RPGs are being pushed out the door and linear shooters are flooding the market. Video games should be left to Nintendo, Sony & Sega (in spirit). Most of the Xbox crowd has no respect for these companies because they never owned a video game before the Xbox and will bend over for MS no matter what they do. They also try to feed crap to people about how Sony is such a horrible company while they support a company (Microsoft) that has some of the most corrupt marketing and business tactics. Microsoft's expanding user base is still mainly from converting computer gamers to video gamers and shifting to that demographics liking which is destroying what made video games, video games.

Why does the "If you have a job it's not that expensive" argument not go rot and die in a hole somewhere? It's complete BS, no matter if you have a job or not, it's still a rediculously expensive system. Keep in mind people with jobs have bills to pay, so the spending money they do get is more precious. I personally have never heard of anyone going into a shop, seeing a PS3 and its price tag and thinking "it's not expensive because I'm a big boy and I have a job and I earn money :D".
Regardless of your fanboyism, and how you would have bought a PS3 even if Sony had just taken the hardware out of the case and replaced it with a turd, people care about what they spend their hard earned money on. It's more precious to them because they EARNT it.Â

Um hello, if people can buy a pc and type on here, then whats the problem of buying a ps3? From your arguement, I can tell u are a kid that ask your parents to buy u stuff. I live on my own with my cousin, and we own a house man and yes we do pay bills and all but I still can manage to buy myself a ps3 and an xbox 360 but u dont see me writing threads saying how expensive this system is.
My point is, all the people that make threads to bash the ps3, are people who dont even own the system, because even with the games that sony offers now, I still enjoy playing RFOM and Motorstorm much more then I do with all the xbox 360 games I have. Call me nuts but anyone who has played RFOM online will tell u, that this game kicks a** online and is very addicting, just like how alot of us love playing halo 2 online, thats what makes the game so fun and the maps are like 3 or 4 times bigger then GEOW so u would understand how kick ass it is to be online against 39 other players playing sharp shooter with all sniper guns or rocket launchers in huge maps, just makes it alot of fun in favor of campers, but I like to rush so, I have an enjoyment of hunting my enemies down. We all have our own taste in games, but to sit here and make threads about the ps3 when u dont even own one, is just nonesense, because I promise u, it is a whole new thing if u own one and can go online for free when ever u want and play and make new friends on there and enjoy it, because thats what games is all about. Anyways im tired of arguing with u people, just play your games and enjoy them.
You don't think there's an obsessive amount of talk over the PS3? It is possibily the most talked about and debated electronic ever released. People that don't even own it and swear they'll never get one still feel they need to go on and on about it, what's the point if you don't want it?
henry_the_horse
The same could be said about the Wii. Everyone who doesn't own one 'goes on and on about it'.
The difference, however, is that the Wii is actually selling well.
Today when I was reading a mass of articles all focused around PlayStation 3 "controversy" I realized that despite any sales numbers, the PS3 is the most desired console. Some people can afford it, get it, and play. Others can't, get online here, and bash it.

Why are there so many people still caught up and obsessive over the PS3 when they supposedly don't want it? If you aren't interested in something you usually ignore it and move on, right? Why is there so much PS3-denial? I'm not attempting to brew something up here, it's a legitamate observation of opinions that seem out of place. henry_the_horseby this theory that would be mean america loves Bush, and thinks microsoft is the greatest corporation ever, and we are really happy with gas prices??

Your theory is flawed as those things directly affect people daily while the ps3 does not = You fail :cry:Â

I disagree ask someone who has bought the ps3, and they'll tell you it affects their daily lives.. usually they are wondering... Why...why did I buy the curvy black brick... why.....the ps3 is really a method to get the world on anti-depressants.. DANG YOU ZOLOFT!!! I'm on to you!![QUOTE="henry_the_horse"]Today when I was reading a mass of articles all focused around PlayStation 3 "controversy" I realized that despite any sales numbers, the PS3 is the most desired console. Some people can afford it, get it, and play. Others can't, get online here, and bash it.
And some people can afford it, don't get it, and don't want it. It's ridiculous how Sony fanboys think they're the only people in the world with enough money to buy a PS3. I'm not saying $600 isn't a good chunk of change, but there are plenty of people out there with a 360 and Wii (or a high-end gaming PC) who have absolutely no desire to purchase a PS3. Sorry, but until Sony gives people a reason to buy a PS3, you guys are gonna have to keep coming up with artificial reasons your PS3 was such a good purchase. I'd rather spend $600 on GAMES, so my choice of the 360 was clear.
