...in canada...

This maybe a rare chance for anyone in the USA looking to get a Console (or anything for that matter) the canadian dollar was par with the US dollar up until a few months ago.

example:

PS3 USA = $400USD

PS3 CANADA = $400CAD = $320USD

$1 CAD = $0.80 USD

...and the canadian dollar wont be down for long...

Yeah, that works great... Until you try and cross the border and declare it and have duty slapped on it.

... and pray you're not the guy they pull over, or you'll stand to maybe lose your PS3 or get a substantial fine. At the point where you start suggesting border smuggling to get the price, it's no longer a deal.

Canada is awesome... it houses Ellen Page. :) So Shafftehr... you couldnt just have it mailed over here? That might sound stupid but I thought you could import crap like that, lol.

If you have "nexus"? What is that exactly? And, shouldn't you say "$320 plus the price of a plane ticket"?

The PS3 is $400 USD, $400 CDN. Some Americans who live very near the border *might* be able to pull this off, if they get lucky and smuggle it. But, that's a bit of a risk to save a few bucks - borders are nasty these days. I know, because I live near the border and I've been pulled over a few times in the past year.

By the way, the 360 is $160 USD, if you actually count this ;)

Open the box, put the PS3 in some random bag or suitcase, and in case you get stopped say you just took it with you in the first place, and that it isn't new-bought?

Well, I know for a fact that you can't mail liquor like that. Also, I am a Canuck, and let me tell you... You try mailing something as large and heavy as a PS3 across the border via Canada Post, you might as well write off that $80 savings.

sure i count that, i was jsut using PS3 as an example, neways nexus is a trust system between Canada and USA, all you need to do is go through a painfull process of interveiws and background checks (i suffered through this) and then once your in all you need to do to cross the border is scan your eye on a machine and thats it... its really easy but i find it saves me long lines at the airport, or road crossings into USA and coming back to Canada

Are you telling me that you didn't feel the desire to strangle her to death in Hard Candy? That movie was so irritating.

Loser. I know from experience. And if you think you'll beat the authorities with that, give it a try.

Perhaps you should put "$320 for Nexus users" then? I'm sure people from this forum will flock to Canada.

Oh, for the record, we Canucks appreciate how hard you Yanks are willing to fight to drop your money in our economy rather than your own in order to save a few bucks - particularly during these tought times. More money in our economy never hurts, and I'm sure the retailers in your country are doing fine ;)
