Playstation 3 or Xbox 360? Indecision.

So I need a little help here.

I'm thinking about getting a PS3 or an Xbox 360 and I'm having a really hard time deciding.

I've done lots of research, read lots of differing opinions, the more I read the more indecisive I become.

I don't have an HD TV so I don't know if Blu Ray really matters that much to me. Looks like Xbox has more games to offer. I was leaning toward PS3 because I love the FF series, but apparently it's coming out on xbox too, so, yeah. Xbox 360 is currently $100 bucks cheaper, and money is kinda tight right now.

I do think it's cool though that the PS3 can surf the net. I feel like that might be fun from time to time.

I've read a lot of stuff saying games look better on the 360. I guess what I'm really struggling with is that I've had playstations my whole life, I feel loyalty to Sony, but I don't think loyalty alone is a good reason to get a system...

So I don't really play first person shooters, or do online multiplaying.

Can someone push me in the right direction? I need to be convinced. I've been trying to make this choice for a solid week now!

You cant go wrong with either. Flip a coin or something.

If you dont play FPS or play online much go with the PS3. Its cool that you can go on the internet with it but once you see how slow it is you wont want to.

The xbox is 100 dollars cheaper, but thats only for the one with no hardrive(basically useless)

First of all:

Make up with which games that interests you, if it is halo, gears and forza and splinter cell, go with the 360. If it is MGS4, Uncharted 2, GT5 and Killzone that looks good in your eyes, go with the ps3. In the end, it all comes down to the games, and frankly, at that point it is just a matter of preference.

if you like jrpgs like ff go with ps3,shooters g with the 360.

Hahahaha its no lie man. I hooked up my PS3 right from my modem to the PS3 with an Ethernet cable..not wireless, and it was still slow as **** and I know I have a fast connection. Im not the only one who thinks its slow.

If I was you I would take a look at the games that have come out so far. The console with the most games that you want to play go with that one. A nice thing about the xbox 360 is the fact you can play some original games which would allow you go to experience those games on xbox you missed. I never had an xbox before my 360 so I am really enjoying going back and playing the original xbox games I missed. Both are great consoles, I only own a 360 and can say I am really happy having one. But at the same time I don't own a PS3 so I have some natural Bias. But in the end you will be happy with either choice, you just need to take a look at the game libraries and figure out what console has the games you want to play.

Get a 360 Mass Effect2is about to come out and itll be a shame if youll miss out on this game!!!!

Plus all the multi games are kinda better on 360 anyways.....maybe you should wait a little longer tah get a ps3 and get a 360 now!!

Just get the PS3 and save yourself some trouble and future expense. A $200 xbox360 will only cost you more in the long run.

another quick question. if I go with the PS3, can I hook up my portable external hard drive to it and watch movies/look at files that are on my external hard drive?

yes you can hook your external hard drive to the PS3 and watch movies that way.

First of all:
