Hey all

I am finding myself being drawn more and more to the Playstation 3 console at the moment. The free online play, interesting excluisves (I am really stoked for Uncharted 2 and I dont get why as I am not hugely into platformers but this sounds more action with platforming which hits the right notes for me, as well as Resistance, MAG, Killzone 2 and GT5 which shocked me with the real licenses, good idea there).

Also the multimedia side such as Blu Ray for the future as I would love to watch Lost in HD on Blu Ray and other tv shows. Also with the improving friends features and Home etc it seems like it offers quite a bit.

That said, I own an XBox 360 and have put it away due to me being a bit "blah" with it at the moment as I have got too many games on it and cant decide what to play so just play none.

Thoughts?

Thanks

Well i did the opposite of you. I had a ps3 since release and just recently got an xbox 360 due to getting bored of ps3. I think you should get a ps3 though. The exclusives are great and it is a good change in gaming. I'm currently enjoying 360 more simply because I have alot of friends who play it also.

This is what will happen if you get a Playstation 3:

1. You'll either enjoy it a lot!

2. It'll become "blah" just as the Xbox 360 did for you.

The real question is how bad do you want a Playstation 3? We already know it's worth buying. Are you just burned out or what?

Hahah. You've put yoru Xbox away as youb have too many games on it to play? I wish i had that problem witha ny game console this gen.

Get a PS3, it has some damn good games, but i guess you'll tire of that too, as there are alot.

Do it and sell the 360, you can get some money back that way. I see no point in owning a console you do not even bother with.

I say its better if he trade it in+ all the games he ownes, that way he can lower the ps3 price even more and might end up paying $50 which is a really good deal

I feel a bit burned out of the Xbox 360, I dont get on it loads as I allways dont know what to go on so it makes me not go on it or I buy a new game (not new new, last game I got on launch or near launch was GRID last summer, I mean new as in another game to the collection like Mass Effect for ten pounds a few weeks ago) and that further increases the problem :?

I'd say, buy the ps3 with a game and some movies. Keep the 360 though. You can have the pick of the best games that way. I play more on my 360, but actually spend more time using my ps3 (movies, music and what-not).

Really? It will be same with the PS3 since 90% of the games are the same.

It seems like you just really want blu-ray. Just get the PS3

Never sell a console. Just buy a PS3 (the 160GB preferrably) when the price goes down later in the year. Selling a console will just end up with you regretting it when an exclusive comes out on it that you want to play.

Ah yes, the "I have so many games to play on one console that I should play none and buy another console" problem. Dude, really?

Edit: On top of that, the PS3 is a good Blu-ray player. Gaming wise, not so sure. I have tried a lot of games for it and really found I only like one (Ratchet and Clank of all games).

Dont wait for a price cut, cause you'll be waiting for a ghost to appear. If it comes, it comes, if you want a PS3 go buy it now. When I bought a PS3 like 2 years ago, I wanted to buy it as soon as a could, even if a price cut happened a few months later. The faster you get your hands on a console, the more fun you can have with it.

Ok well thats fine, I am not trolling but actually asking whether I should get a PS3. A member comented on my blog that maybe another console would keep things fresh as I am suffering a bit of burnout from XBox 360. I am not a person who leans per say on any of the consoles. Think what you want but I am being honest with my text, I am suffering burnout with the Xbox 360 and can go a while wihtout using it for the reason stated (too many games, I got them cheap in all the sales and pre-owned things, I work and bought some games in good faith I would finish them but went a bit over board with the number I got last year) and thats how it is. That is how it is, read into it what you will.

Yeah. If you don't have a gaming PC, you'll miss out on some quality series like Mass Effect, as well as games like Alan Wake and Splinter Cell : Conviction.

want me to make it easier for you? get a ps3.

do you think you will be dissapointed? rest assure if you can afford all the great games you wont be. and just to spice it up, heres what you can look forward to exclusively coming up in the future if the games it had werent enough:

FFversusXIII (A Realistic Final Fantasy - RPG)
God of War III (A great story driven action game)
Heavy Rain (A great story driven mind **** that has multiple paths that make the game unique for anyone who plays it)
Modnation Racers (A kart racer with unlimited tracks and customizibilty to keep it from getting old like other kart racers - with devs from Crash Team Racing)
MAG (A 256 player War - need i say more?)
White Knight Chronicles (A Fantastic multiplayer RPG)
Gran Turismo 5 (Most Likely The Greatest Racing Game That Will Ever Be Released)
Demons Souls (An RPG that has already won critical acclaim in japan and is coming to NA because of its greatness)
Motorstorm: Arctic Edge (Anyone whos played the first Motorstorm knows the level this game delivers at)
Ratchet and Clank: A Crack in Time (Play Tools of Destruction and will see why this game is Hyped -AVG 9 score across the board evenwith GS pityfull 7.5)
Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 (Hack and Slash game that bears the name Ninja Gaiden)
MLB: The Show 10 (How they will top The Show 09 - I have no idea)
Uncharted 2: Among Thieves (GOTY)
The Last Guardian (Epic Story, Epic Feeling, Epic Experience, Epic Game, Epic - Dont miss this Experience)
Agent (The Next GTA, takes you around the world and playing freedom like never before- Rockstar North)
A number of Exclusive games being developed by 1st party with the new motion control (This is what im most excited about)

And these are only announced titles, think of what else, sequals, new ips, etc. sony has always delivered this for PS1, PS2, and it is just starting for PS3. Tokyo Game Show is where they shine.

Get a PS3 and I would bet you would be back to your 360 in a month. It doesn't sound like you need a new console it sounds like you need to stop playing games for a month or two.

it might get a price drop later this year so you might want to wait for that to happen before buying one

I think that if you already own a HD console, theres little point in switching. I did go from the 360 elite to the 80 Gb ps3 and I would've been just as happy keeping the elite.

Now if I had no console I'd probably go for a ps.

im not willing to spend all that money just to play valkyria chronicles, though i have seriously considered it. if you see anything much else on the console you want you might as well go ahead and pick it up if you can afford it. it is an excellent system with a lot to offer, and if you have psp is has some funky interactions with that bad boy. personally, i am happy with my 360 as the exclusives dont matter much to me (other than vc), and i wanted mass effect more than any other available games.

It depends on what you would like to have. If you like to use the PS3 for more than movies and games you can get one of the systems that has the memory card readers you can use it for more things. Another thing is you really don't need to get the biggest HDD because you can change the HDD with any SATA HDD. A 500 gig SATA HDD cost very little now. The real sweet thing is you can swap the HDD withour effecting the warranty.

You sound like you'd benefit from one quite a bit. So I'd say it's definitely worth it for you
