Playstation 4 Set For E3 2012 More At TGS

The latest issue of UK gaming magazine PSM3 is now available, and with it comes another bold statement regarding the existence of Sony's next generation console. Despite Sony President Kaz Hirai denying the possibility of a PS4 announcement at E3 2012, PSM3 is siding with MCV in confirming that the long-rumored successor to the PS3 will make an appearance at the hotly anticipated show.

"Games industry magazine MCV cited their own sources when they joined PSM3 in confirming PS4′s debut at June's E3 show, but Sony boss Kaz Hirai served all of us a big glass of 'shut up' by denying that there will be any new console at E3. So who's telling fibs?",stated the March 2012 issue of PSM3.

"Nintendo will attend E3 with Wii U, Microsoft will make a next-gen announcement, and Sony need more than Vita to convince the world they're equipped for a new console era. Don't hold your breath for hardware designs, but some proof that PS4 exists is vital to Sony's success. Expect a name–Playstation 4, duh– at E3, with more at TGS."

UK trade websiteMCVpreviously reported that undisclosed sources indicated that both Sony and Microsoft are currently gearing up to publicly reveal their next-generation consoles at E3 2012– MCVwriterBen Parfitt stated on Twitter that the sources are"exemplary" and"ultra high level".

"Obviously we can't reveal our sources," revealed MCV writerBen Parfittvia Twitter. "But you have my personal word on this – the source is exemplary, 100 per cent concrete, ultra high level."

I would be very happy to see another PS system soon but at this point it would be kinda nie to have a gap between buying new consoles.

It is certain, since PS3 has abysmal sales, while 360 sales are throught the roof

I suppose the terrible PS3 sales, huge losses and WiiU make SOny make their move first, probably with a very cheap system like Wii was

Do you really think Kaz is just going to come out and say oh yeah PS4 people at E3.Instead deny and make it a surprise, brings way more speculation and hype than just flatly saying its coming.

It gets the gears turning for dat hype machine.

I have perhaps over 30 PS2 games. I have but 10 PS3 games. In the end, I'll probably own less PS3 games than SEGA Saturn games. Less PS3 games than PSP games.

Somewhat of a disappointment.

Not a chance in hell that PS4 appears at E3 this year.

It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that the moment you announce a PS4 you automatically slow PS3 sales.

And the gaming division is one of the few things actually bringing in cash; cold, hard, cash which Sony is desperate for. They need to milk PS3 for cash to keep the entire company afloat.

One thing common about gaming sites is that they know f-all about business. Even if you had a PS4 on the shelf right now you would be insane to release it and undercut one of the few products you have turning a profit and simultaneously introducing a new loss leader. Even Sony is not that stupid; Kaz is a hard nosed business executive, not a moron. PS4 will wait until the crisis is over.

The problem is that they'll have nothing of it to show. At the very best they'll have a few pre-rendered trailers like they did at E3 2005, but I'm not even expecting that. Would it even be wise to announce the PS4? They're still trying to gain as much as they can from PS3.
