Old news. Another bias trolling thread that can be locked by mods.
This part annoys me: "One source even suggested that enforcing parity across consoles could become a political issue between platform holders, developers and publishers. They said that it could damage perceptions of a cross platform title, not to mention Xbox One, if the PS4 version shipped with an obviously superior resolution and framerate; better to castrate the PS4 version and release near-identical games to avoid ruffling any feathers."

If the devs outed themselves, Major Nelson would declare Holy War on them and try to blacklist them.
50% extra power wont be any good if:
Alarmingly, one source has suggested that PlayStation 4 version of cross platform titles could be castrated so both versions of the game look identical. This would be done to avoid ruffling any feathers and damage perceptions of a cross platform title, not to mention Xbox One.

It wont be for long. Within 1-2 years the difference in the install base will be big and 3rd party devs will start to ignore the X1 (and MS will, most likely, abandon it too)
3rd topic on this s***, and...
Microsoft comments on this:
"Ten years ago, you could argue that a consoles power was summed up in terms of a few of its specs, but Xbox One is designed as a powerful machine to deliver the best blockbuster games today and for the next decade.
Xbox One architecture is much more complex than what any single figure can convey. It was designed with balanced performance in mind, and we think the games we continue to show running on near-final hardware demonstrate that performance. In the end, well let the consoles and their games speak for themselves."
Â
Can the mods just sticky one of these crappy threads so we don't get another 6-7 more on this same topic?

So, two things:
1) Microsoft admits that the Xbone is weaker in the PS4 in performance.
2) Microsoft says that the focus of the Xbone is not just games.
The first is true, given what hardware is in the boxes.Â
But number 2 is a stretch. Essentially, Microsoft is going to be competing against Smart TV's and cable boxes that do what the Xbone does but better (except for a few things like NFL fantasy stuff). Gaming is what is going to keep the Xbone a float, not TV, and not the NFL.
I get the feeling Microsoft wasn't expecting to get called out on their shit as much as they have been.
they can't even deny that the ps4 is the strongest tech wise anymore, It's like they saw what Sony did with the ps3 and thought it would be a good idea to follow the same path.

MS is trying so hard to control the damage done to the xbox one image,if people actually think for one second,is easy to know the unit was greatly outpower and that the GPU and CPU was make to try to close that gap a little.
Â
The fun part about that bold part is that sony console was build even with more balance in mind, and ease of use in mind as well,to the point where developers are having an easier time making games for PS4 than for the xbox one because of the xbox one ESRAM.
Sony builded the PS4 to be a well balance machine, that just happen to have a more powerful GPU and a more straight forwar memory design.
There is a simple way to prove this. Show GAMEPLAY footage that has 50% better graphics and Framerate. FoxbatAlpha
Â
Yes because the 7970 has 50% better graphics than the 7950,and the 7950 has 50% better graphics than the 7870..
50% more power doesn't translate into 50% better looking games.

It's crazy, MS never used to comment on "rumour and speculation", but since the botched announcement, they've been falling over themselves with PR statements. Like they know they can't let a rumour sit and fester anymore, and further damage the X1's rep.

i think you may have a problem with your D button dude, anyway, i would actually agree with you on this, MS have pulled a Ps3 (ESRAM) which is bad , whereas SONY have learned there lesson and gone with powerful developer friendly hardware. It looks like there will be a reversal with the Ps4 having the edge in multiplats which will be highly interesting:)[QUOTE="mitu123"]
