Alright, I'm making a new thread (to start fresh) and locking everything else.
I'll update this post with a little more info.
Now have it at it and know that I personally think it's wasted potential.

I honest to God can't recall the last time Lems have been this mad. It's been years, it's glorious.

Saw its coming out this year in another thread that got locked? Anybody can confirm this? I'm going to the bank later today to get a 2nd mortgage on the house to afford all these Sony exclusives and need to know if I should include it. Thanks! Heil68Confirmed.

I won't be able to sleep at night until Playstation is spelled correctly. Please get on this.UCF_Knight
:o Just noticed it, lol. Wasdie FIX!!!!
This game is missing the most satisfying part of Smash bros. It seems this game doesnt have smash attacks...lol everyone knows Smash bros isnt satisfying with out there. a lot of Smash bros clones copy Smash bros and dont have that feature and fail. This game is no exception.
"A couple of points...
I saw the announcement and as I'm sure you noticed, it's shipping this year. Which means... I'd bet that they're at or near content complete for launch. So if you're asking us to engage now in the hopes of getting something in, it's probably safe to assume that if something already isn't planned for/built, it's probably not going to happen (at least not for launch).
Second... while I'd like to see some Capcom stuff in the game (it looks cool), this is a Sony game, not a Capcom game. I'm not able speak to what their plans or intentions are with regard to third party content. Again, it's a question for Sony, not Capcom."

Looks like they aren't having any of their characters in this game, at least not at launch.

Not at all. It's a damn waste of potential.
Ever since seeing that "For Michael" commerical by Sony I always pictured something like this being a lot more awesome. Imagine playing as Nathan Drake while two Helghast soliders pin you down behind cover. You're playing a TPS and the Helghast guys are in an FPS. Out of nowhere Kratos comes in, being played like the hack n' slash it is, and cuts up the Helghast soliders. Then here comes a bunch of ISA soliders to back up Nathan Drake as Locust soliders pour down on your position.
It could be done. It wouldn't be easy, but it could be done and it could be amazing.
You could have a whole story mode where you can play as a few main characters in some single player universe that integrates every game's characters in some large story. It could be amazing. Something like SSBB did, but from the perspective of a few different characters. You would play each character in the way they are played in their respective games (with obvious tweaks to make it balanceable).
Multiplayer would be such a riot. This is just so uninspired.
All those posts in other threads, gone. :'(
Anywho, I'm excited for this. Only thing I'm not liking, like I have said before, is the way kills happen with the special meter attacks. I just don't like that one move (three versions) is the only way to kill people. Information is scarce at the moment.
I submit for your approval: Work Time Fun stage. Would that be the greatest thing, or the greatest thing?Cherokee_JackUmmm why not. :P Personally I would love to see the time travelling level from medievil, oh and Sir Daniel, The Ripper and Princess Kiya need to be in this game.
WasdieI don't think there is much success to be had in asking a new developer to reinvent the wheel. Maybe they can do that with the sequel.

But, it's a start man. It's the first game, I agree what your proposing is actually amazing, it would make an extremely fun game. Sony's juggling different formulas right now, fortunately or unfortunately they decided to go with this one, we'll see if it works or not.

Nah this is some attempt at a cash grab.WasdieAs are all games. We'll see how it pans out, but I envision it being successful enough to become a lasting Sony franchise.

DeadMan1290
They aren't juggling formulas, they are playing it safe and ripping off an average fighting game that is only special because of the characters. Sony's characters are not the same as Nintendo. They can't just put them together in a cartoony arena. It doesn't have the same effect.
Yay he fixed the title, I was about to ninja-edit him without his permission.

These are my thoughts exactly. I know that I love Sackboy and Sly Cooper just as much as the next gamer, but they will never have the charm of the SSB characters.
A shameful rip-offThe_PacificGames like Crash Team Racing and Sonic & Sega All Stars Racing prove a "rip-off" is fine as long as it's a good game. And in both those cases, they improved upon the game they were "ripping off" vastly. I expect this to do the same for this style of game.

Playing it safe with a succesful formula. YES. The part about the characters I can agree with also. I don't see Drake jumping around shooting Kratos, and not seeing Kratos rip off Drake's head, they need to find a way to combine what you described. It would make for an amazing game.

Now, put them in some sort of massive arena where each character is controlled like they are in their respectable games, give them 2 different attacks, a block, and some sort of special ability, and then let them have at each other.
The possibilities are amazing.
