It's like another new one universe, where Nintendo is the adult console and Sony is just for kids. I mean, I'm 32 and love playing Nintendo consoles, but I have to admit that most of videogames that I like about Nintendo used to be from the old 90's, so by now PC games and PS4 games are more interesting to me than the Nintendo ones. Is this happening to anyone else?

The censorship is mostly aimed at Anime games though. GTA V, Red Dead Redemption 2, and even Witcher 3 don't have any that censorship -- despite being more explicit than games like Senran Kagura. I think they should have their priorities in check. Something's seriously wrong with Sony's selective censorship.

But regardless, this should have very little effect on PS4 and PS5 sales. I doubt everyone else will consider that as a deal breaker.

Sony U.S has a lot of clout probably more than Sony Japan I'm sure. Their lineup is mostly catered to North America's tastes lately. To think they are cracking down on censoring otaku games is not fair. If CERO has no problems with the game leave it alone. I never buy Japanese games like Senran Kagura on consoles anymore, I buy them on PC for this very reason, so Sony is free to censor the games cause they are only doing this for Western audience and they need every money from the parents.

Just buy Japanese games like Senran Kagura on PC and you'll be just fine. I have no use for buying it on consoles cause consoles are restriction, PC is open house.

To be fair, it's mostly because Japan has a much younger limit for age of consent. But that's not what I'm mostly talking about. Games like Witcher 3 SHOW full on sex with mostly naked women. While these anime games only show skin but not even the bare bosom. You see a hell of a lot more in a Western game like Witcher, GTA and RDR than you ever will in an anime game.

Even the "intimacy mode" in question being removed from the new upcoming Senran Kagura game is nothing compared to what you see in Witcher. Touching and soaking is light compared to actual sex. It's like comparing a very soft core strip club to a brothel. It makes zero sense to focus on that while our western games are getting away with sooo much more.

Unfortunately due to the likes of Resetera, Polygon, Kotaku and other outrage outlets, Japanese Publishers now views the Western consumer as " abit of a pussy".

The problem is that censorship is a two way street. In the end, it's about choosing whether or not to get riled up over fictional characters. These over-sexualized anime girls, young or not, are every bit as fictional as the girls having sex in Western games. If we are to allow it, we are to allow all of it. And if we are to censor it, then we are to censor all of it.

It's no different than freedom of speech. If we are to defend the Left for saying whatever they want about Trump and Conservatives, then we are to defend the Right for saying whatever they want about us or Hillary or whatever. Same goes for this. The age difference is literally just a detail that means nothing to how the artist chooses to draw anime girls. No, she's not in the minority here. I also have a 11 year old daughter and as her Dad, I know whats right & wrong and I can also say Anime games is being mistreated here in the west, especially here in the U.S. Anime has come a long way here in the U.S but the Anime/JRPG games still see discrimination, the whole underage girl in Anime is never fully explain and shouldn't be judge until you know the actual characters.

Yes, I play games like Hyperdimension Neptunia & Senran Kagura series but not because of the so-call underage girls BS, it's because I enjoy playing those types of games just for fun, nothing more/less. If anyone can't tell the difference between Anime entertainments & Reality, you ain't all that bright sunshine. I'm an Otaku but that doesn't mean I'm against Anime underage girls, it's just part of Japan's culture of how Anime is.
