Over at the semi-official Sony ThreeSpeech blog, a new Q&A session has been posted up regarding various limits of the Playstation Home service as well as its privacy options. It has been revealed that each lobby can fit in 64 gamers at the same time, the respective area's will not be policed at all times but gamers can complain about wrongful behavior and it should be dealt with in due course.
What’s the function of the lobby and what is the maximum number of users that can be in a lobby?
“The lobby is the central meeting place where you can meet new friends or arrange to meet old friends, before transferring to a private meeting place. The current maximum of concurrent users in a lobby is 64.”
So how do you make sure friends are present in the same space?
“You can invite them via your friends list or invite them to your personal Home space.”
How will we all go about finding people within the Home world?
“We will have search functions for finding people online and offline, and for finding lobbies.”
Will you create lobbies by countries/regions?
“Yes, although users can choose where they want to go.”

Discuss.

I don't see why they would limit your avatar to being white... I want to be purple.

You might be surprised at how many MMO games deny my ability to be me ; ; Like, FFXI ; ;

:| I don't think I've played a game where you can create a character and not choose skin colour. I'd be pretty pissed if I found a game that let me create a character, but only let me be white. I'm glad I didn't pick up FFX1.

the lobby is not much more than a 3d chat room. WoW doesn't require a gamer pc and can do a lot more than 64. Second life is free and can do more than 64.

I just don't see what a social lobby has to do with gaming...call me cynical. I mean, you can go into private chats on XBL while you and another person (or a few) are playing different games, yet, i rarely ever use this feature. It just doesn't seem like PSH is doing much in terms of the gaming needs of online users.

64 makes home a small (very small ) mall rather than a world.

64? that's a very low number. so they'll probably have Lobby1, Lobby2, Lobby3 etc... like Phantasy Star Online.

this is only the lobby, not the entire game. from what I understand, a lobby is simply where you go before connecting to the game you joining.

Unfortunately yes..but on the plus side, hopefully chat channels won't be flooded and the lobby lagged up because of it.

it's not really a game. it's a series of 3d chat rooms. the lobby is a big one and the apartments are the smaller ones.

well i don't really see a whole lot of physics going on in the home lobby. it's not like there will be gun fights and explosions. or much in the way of calculations (like when 40 characters attack in a WOW instance).
