Why would it only work offline? You need to be connected to send messages.

Why are people bashing this? I don't think this thread is intended to be some sort of ownage, it's just shows that PSN is improving itself always and trying to compete with XBL, that's all.

I have a cell phone. i ca send and recieve messages about anything, anytime. Even...gasp...while playing a game. You cant play a game and be in Home at the same time now can ya?gromit007

They reserve an entire SPU for the OS, so i don't see why that'd be so hard to do.

This is a speerate update from Home. The TC just thought the "ownage" would be better if they were somehow connected.

They claim everything will be available from menues but that just makes Home a gimmik. Fun for a bit but way to slow for day to day use. Completely useless.
