Oh shit, glad I didn't go all out on my purchases lmao. Only bought two games, but was planning to buy more.
As expected lemmings want no part of this thread. The trolls who don't even own any Sony consoles now have one less thing to pretend to be outraged over.
Well that’s good of them. Not only did they have fans who wanted this they also had some developers still making games for the Vita who wanted to get their games out in time to actually get some sales on it.
Good on them, PSP store is still closing though but I don't think anyone is mad about that. To some extent I'd say closing the PS3 store makes sense, it's closing the Vita store that got me scratching my head.
Weird, why should Sony keep paying for server upkeep if there are barely any users? Serious question, how many users still use these stores, cannot stay open forever.
Hahaha. Fantastic!
**** you, Sony! Hopefully you get the same backlash when you try this again in a year.
Now merge the stores so we keep all the PS3 purchases on our main PSN account and allow us to play PS1/2 classics we've already bought on PS5. Do some actual work towards the QoL of your customers. This is the business you have chosen to be in, don't be shitty just because it's hard sometimes.
Good on Sony. Lol, taking those stores down was not the brightest decision. Glad they realized that.
Hahaha. Fantastic!

I still think Jim Ryan is not the right fit for the Sony brand at all. He just don’t understand the love of all those games since generation one we gamers care about. I'll assume CMOS battery issue must have scare Sony off, they probably knew closing the stores would lead to riots on the street, best way to not further harm the brand is to not close the stores. (Which was a stupid idea to begin with)
@davillain-: Closing the Vita store was undoubtedly a dumb idea, not so much for the other two imo. But yeah his indifference to older games does kinda bother me a little.
Hahaha. Fantastic!

Srsly, 5 Vita fans on the street protesting in front of your favorite grocery store.
Cool. II wish the was still being manufactured though. It's the one handheld I wanted to try but never bought.

Lol. A Sony apologist is here to minimize the criticisms of people who actually want to see Sony get better. What a surprise...
Companies make bad decisions. At least Sony acknowledged this and listened to their fans. Good on Sony
Let me guess ... "we made a mistake, we misinterpreted our data, we thank the dedication and the passion of our fanbase, we will continue to improve, we will be listening to your feedback and suggestions"
Or something alone those lines.

Haha you either read it before posting, or large corps always say the same tired shit when they screw up.

Lol ... didn't read it, i only saw on Reddit a guy saying it was the same old corporate BS template ... so is not hard to imagine what they said.
The lesson in all this? Voicing complaints sometimes works
It worked with MS trying to raise the price of Xbox Live. But what will the Xbox fans do when they try to raise Game Pass? Probably nada ðŸ¤
Good, I hope next they find ways to bridge some of their digital content to other systems too. Ps3's digital PS1 and PS2 classics should be accessible on PS4 and PS5. Even PSP and Vita catalogs should be playable. Maybe hardest to keep accessible might be Vita since it has a touch screen as part of controls but for games with less refinement in such regard I would imagine possibly the DS4 and DS5 touch-pad solution might work as a substitute, maybe. Baby steps. Keeping these services open is a positive development in right direction.
Curious of why the change of heart. Hopefully they are moving in a more BC friendly and rights retention direction. I would at least hope this won't be because they don't have much good news on horizon and therefore cannot afford more bad news. Maybe if that's case though, maybe they will so change mind regarding a Days Gone sequel.
Vita MEANS life these games are going NOWHERE!
Vita for the fans sony for life it is what it is you live and you learn maybe sales picked up or something?
It’s a win/win for Sony players, good for them. I guess I’m considered a Lemming on GS, but I’m happy for PS gamers, not satisfying to me when any gamers are shut out of doing what we all love to do! And that’s to play games.
At this point it's like SONY's just spitting into the wind and hoping it doesn't hit them in the face.
Gives me more time to pick up a few PS1 classics but also need to pick up the odd PSP games before they are gone
So Sony created a frenzy to get cows to buy up big because they were closing these stores, only at the 11th hour "decide" to keep them open, and cows are thanking Sony.
Damn you cows got scammed, great marketing ploy by Sony, pretend to close it to scare the masses into a buying games they think are going forever, then casually say, oh we're not closing them now lol.
Am I the only one who couldn't purchase Metal Gear Solid 1 on vita?
Like are not all the ps1 ps3 classics available on vita just like 90% of them or something?
