I hope it requires a SSD and that it would fail to run on a traditional HDD. I also hope that the SSD needed is at least 5.5GB/s transfer speed. It would be a shame if all the hype around the SSD turned out to be false again.😎

Not the greatest R&C imo, it is better than the remake or whatever you want to call that game though.

It's a sp game, what does it matter what year it's played? There is nothing gained when playing a single player game before someone else.

Ratchet was never a mascot for PS. That was Crash Bandicoot, which is also on PC along with plenty of quality 3D platformers.

I already played it, have no interest in the PC version.

On topic: I'm going to rise above cheap SSD related jokes.

I wonder if they will implement the full direct storage suite for this. Although, as i understand it, the game only uses the brute force of the SSD in the PS5 during loading screens (including the 3 second inter level loading screens).... so there probably wont be any need. A solid PCIE gen 3 or 4 NVME SSD should be plenty even if it doesn't use direct storage. SATA SSDs will just have longer loading screens I would think. Then there is the CPU load of course to get the loading times down...be interesting to see how fast that needs to be to match the PS5 (assuming they don't implement direct storage and GPU accelerated decompression, though seeing that in action would also be interesting). Should be a bit interesting at least. DF should get a good 2-3 vids out of it :P.

Then there is the question on the kind of GPU you will need to match the rendering prowess of the PS5s SSD......I'm sorry. I really tried to stay classy :( j/k.

This must be a false rumour, I was told it would never happen.

I have no interest but I'm curious to know how good or bad the port will be.

Despite trying alot of the demos from the PS2/PS3 era, the only R&C I actually played fully was Quest for Booty, PS4 remake and currently playing Rift Apart. Rift Apart so far is the weakest of the 3. The whole switching dimension seems pointless and uninteresting. This game seems to have too many cutscenes(boring). Pretty game though.

There's too much dialogue in general, and the problem is none of it is engaging or funny. They need to get new writers or get some of the OG ones back from the original trilogy, although considering that Ted Price came out and said he doesn't like the humour in the original games it's probably not gonna happen.

Oh that's cool, I didn't know that. What I did know is that Helldivers, Marathon, Fairgame$ are all DAY ONE multiplatform games published by Sony!! Let's FUCKING GO! I thought 6 months was fast with TLOU1 Remake, but holy shit, DAY ONE now!

I always thought that whole SSD being some magical to PS5 was BS and I never went down the rabbit hole with that claimed.

It has a 60 fps mode 😄 Also, these games are made for consoles in mind. Not like putting it on PC is going o make it magically different.

While Sony loses old exclusives, the X has nothing left to lose because everything is on pc. Pathetic.
