PlayStation vs Xbox brand as a whole

which has served us gamers better through the years. (I'm talking all the way back to psone/psx [but there is actually a psx ]).

note: windows based games are not xbox brand games

Playstation. It's unfair though since the PS brand has 1 generation more than the XBOX brand.

While Xbox has made great strides in online gaming it seems Playstation has always provided the more unique games between the two. That is to say, while there may not be the most groundbreaking titles on the platform, I have yet to see 1st, 2nd, or 3rd party games on Xbox that rival what has been accomplished on Playstation in terms of gameplay, variety, and/or overall production values and to be honest, I don't see the Xbox brand ever achieving what the Playstation brand has simply due to current industry conditions.

Playstation is obviously going to own, going back 3 generations with a handheld. Nintendo owns both though, newer generation not so much, but the older generations like NES, SNES, N64 etc own.

I would go Sony, but at the same time, overall, they have a bigger leap than Microsoft ever will have, so I really wouldn't consider it an even fight.

they overprice hardware (excluding the console), charge for online, and the 360 has been (and still kinda is) plauged with faulty hardware

they care lots!

Playstation 2 alone beats both Xbox consoles easily IMO.

PS2 beats 360 and xbox put together

dude calm down. In the amount of time the xbox brand has lived as a whole how has it served us compared to the ps brand as a whole.

Playstation obviously had more impact on the gaming industry with its dominance over couple generations of consoles, but the XBox has pushed ahead in online console gaming as well as offering a good competitor for Playstation, forcing it to continue to improve its standards.

easily Playstation simply due to the ps1 and psp. Both have set the precedent for current gaming, xbox has done nothing new and released only two consoles, if you never owned either of them your only missing out on a few classic game series.
