There's more changes in one Pokemon generational transition than there have been in the entire Call of Duty series put together. Try again.The cod of the east returns to the west!

Well, apart from the obvious 'more new Pokemon' and 'new regions,' here are some major changes from each installment to the next: Pokemon Gold/Silver: Introduced a real time day/night function that allows for variation in what Pokemon appear when, as well as other real time events; introduced berry harvesting and custom Pokeballs; new attacks and field moves; introduced the Pokegear, introduced two new Pokemon types Pokemon Ruby/Sapphire: Redid the entire underlying statistical makeup of Pokemon, changing the metagame enitrely, introduced Pokemon abilities and weather effects, both on and off field, introduced out of battle Pokemon stats, such as Beauty and Happiness Pokemon Diamond/Pearl: Introduced the Physical/Special attack split, that completely changes the battling metagame again, introduces online play to the series, return of in game day/night Pokemon Black/White: Introduced a new EXP curve, so that the amount of experience your Pokemon gets is according to the level of your Pokemon, and the level of your opponent Pokemon as well; introduces infinite reuse TMs; introduces real time weather, that, similar to real time day and night, influences the appearance of Pokemon These are just the most major changes, and off the top of my head. The amount of changes in each Pokemon game numbers in the hundreds. Just because they are structurally stagnant doesn't mean they have 'no notable changes.'The amount of changes in each Pokemon game numbers in the hundreds. Never said they didn't, but COD games have many changes as well and like pokemon they are just structurally stagnant.

I agree. There's a reason you will never hear me criticize Call of Duty either. As long as there are enough mechanical changes- which there are in both Call of Duty and Pokemon- I can abide by structural stagnancy. On the other hand, mechanical stagnancy in favor of structural changes- such as in God of War, or to a lesser extent, Uncharted and Halo- is something I find hard to tolerate.I hope to get it day 1 but Dishonored comes out two days later and I want to get that for by the 12th because that is my Birthday.
But I will get Black and White 2 eventually.
7.5
Ragnarok1051
Gamespot can give it a 2 for all people care.. it's still going to sell like hot cake. It just makes them look bad and lose credibility as critics if they can't even put proper taste into what the majority of people are wanting to play. So for us the game is about a 9 - 9.5... for GS would be a 7.5. Just like Zelda... Just like gravity rush.. just like the other pokemons.... just like Castlevania.. listening to gamespot scores and reviews it's something you don't want to do. They're a good news site though.

I certainly hope you don't bash shooters like COD then.

In my opinion.. people that like Halo or BF and hate on COD are semi hypocrites. There's some differences.. but the core mechanics are the same.

Might get it late, used. But after being disappointed by B/W I have a hard time supporting the series. Doesn't mean I won't get it though.Nozizaki
Really? You didn't like B/W? I agree that it wasn't as good as D/P but I liked how they didn't "force" the franchise to mature. Yeah, it still felt like Pokèmon but it also felt like a very naturally evolution for the franchise. I totally digged the more "mature" story.

I thought the story was fine, but the region and pokemon seemed lifeless and stale to me. I don't know. I'll what some gameplay, maybe I'll get hyped.

The amount of changes in each Pokemon game numbers in the hundreds. Just because they are structurally stagnant doesn't mean they have 'no notable changes.' but most of those even matter. They tweak move-sets and avail be abilities of the Pokemon from generation to generation in order to try and get people to use Pokemon that get little use. Game Freak realizes they have massive communities like PO following their games. They also change the effects of moves and add tons of items which effect the meta-game items like choice band life orb and leftovers, and abilities like regenerater, Moxie, Magic Gaurd, Drought, Drizzle, Sand stream.There has been no such announcement yetAnyone knows if there is going to be a special edition 3DS or DS for when it comes out?

More changes
1->2
A lot of new move types added including weather changing skills, genders for trainers and pokemon alike, now EACH and every pokemon has an opinion of you, shiny pokemon, breeding, and storage is a LOT more convenient, no more being unable to capture new pokes because your current box was full.
2->3
Double Battles, a lot of social features added such as the TV, in which events for you may be shown for other players, secret bases
4->5
The battle camera, pokemon animate during combat, EACH and EVERY pokemon has 2 traits, one hidden which is universal for it's species and one which is randomized for between 2 traits for each family.

To be honest they are closer than what System Wars thinks on both sides. I think COD ges way too much negativity for its sales the series changes a lot each installment, just neither games put those changes out there that much to notice, and this mostly leans toward COD.cannot wait lol at ppl comparing pokemon to COD
