Poll: Does FF XV kinda make you think "Japanese" Dragon Age?

How do you know the story of this game is not "deep"? Have you played the game already? Looking at your post it looks like the characters in this game just do not fit with your power fantasy.

im just not a fan of lightning and the new dark haired main character looks fine but his voice and dialogue sounds chidish

the SIDE character just are not up to par just looking at them they don't look unique or anything and dialogue sounds bad

you have old school FF characters like cecil dark knight of the red wings

you have kain legendary dragoon of baron

you have serious CHARACTERS serious character with funny sides to them like cyan who hates machines but is still serious at times

this game look no it just looks crappy and the side characters don't do it for me the writing is bad the dialogue is terrible they need up there story's again im talking about DIALOGUE u don't want to skip

i used to read every little tid bit of dialogue in ff4/ff6/ff7 i read them like a solid book in FF13 and this new one all i wanna do is skip this crap dialogue its just not worth it anymore when the writing and voice actors suck this is not scale of old FF games or metal gear solid its on its own CRAP scale imo with other games now

Final Fantasy at one point in my life time actually had good games, I would like a return to that.

That's true but the sample I'm looking for are those who have thoughts on what they've seen. This isn't exactly a final judgement for XV. Just wanted to know if it can make them think of DA.. currently.

When i look or hear about FF15, i instantly remember of the emo jpop crew you're playing as. So no.

Other than a supposed similar quality level, they are pretty different.

And man, that dungeon looked banal.

I guess it's just there's a large world, 4 person team, third person perspective, rpg, real time elements, fixed camped areas, wildlife than can be attacked, enemies roaming around that can bumped into for real time battle. Instead of a horse, there's a car for area traversal (but doesn't seem like it can be used on most terrain).

I feel FF XV has higher production values tho; higher quality cutscenes for the most part.

Can you swap team-mates in FF XV?

EDIT: Definitely much higher production values. The Wildlife video you posted is amazing. Thanks for also posting the 1st video. It seems rather more action oriented with plenty of enemies on screen. I also saw a video a bit before where there are tons of humanoid soldiers unlike in DA where combat are more intimate/few.

The games will be as similar as two completely dissimilar things.

I'm kinda watching this vid. I see a lot more animation/animation effort/noise put into traversal. Even saw some weird verticality rest mechanic.

I guess the similarities can be just skin-deep? Somewhat like comparing MH with FW/SSD/etc., SF with Tekken, recent Pokemons with Digi: Cyber Sleuth.

Well, if we're talking skin-deep we're talking aesthetics and the characters and environments couldn't be more different. FF is modern/urban I can't see anything they have in common at all apart from they are party-based RPG's and I loved one of them and will be buying the other on day one for PS4 :)

I just find it similar enough but that's just about anything since, well, grass is grass, trees are trees, rocks are rocks and aren't rendering in toon shaders. Shading IMO looks better with FFXV specially the characters. DAI seem a bit high cotrast (a little cartoony to look at).

The latest Dragon Age was awful, I still want my money back. I hope this game doesn't follow the boring "walking simulator with good graphics" trend that wrpgs seem to think is cool.

FF15 doesn't as yet look like an MMO masked as a single player game, so no. If that 40 minute gameplay video was DAI, there would have been 25 (fetch) quest markers pop up.

Extended male camaraderie has always been looked upon as allusion to homoeroticism in media studies (i.e. Top Gun or Point Blank. You have no idea how many scholarly articles are written on this topic). As far as I am aware, FFXV doesn't have any female party members, and 5 guys going on a road trip? That is a very typical structure of a road/genre movie with homoerotic subtexts.

Come to think of it. I guess this game won't have much dialogue options nor have as much content like DA unique banters depending on party composition. Maybe the budget for that went to graphics and cutscenes, hopefully more enemy variety?

Inquisition was probably one of the more bashed games out there last year.

Seeing that combat makes me miss the turned battle system. That looks like a cluster **** of button mashing.

The only FF game that has some resemblance to Dragon Age is FFXII... only because BioWare mentioned it as an influence.

Ugh, the game is bad. Boring, filled with tons of MMO filler fetch quests. Mind-numbing combat.
