OK people, time for a new poll. And this one, is the BIGGEST one ever too. It comes with the help of Shungokustasu, our resident blackbelt gamer, who provided his expert consultation on the genre :) We're going to determine the fiercest tournament fighter and with so many titles, this poll will be running for 12 WEEKS, 1 week for 10 preliminary rounds and 2 weeks for the Finals. The games being covered are;
Street Fighter Mortal Kombat King of Fighters Killer Instincts Darkstalkers Virtua Fighter Tekken Dead or Alive Soulcalibur Super Smash Bros

Since each poll has room for only 5 slots, only 5 of the top scoring winners will proceed to the Finals. To determine that, the number of votes each winning fighter gets will be compared and the 5 lowest are eliminated. So not only does a fighter have to win their poll, they have to have more votes than the other winners.
Also lets get something else out of the way. Most of these games have a bigger roster than these polls can hold, especially SF and MK. So yes, there WILL be fighters missing from the polls. Believe me, there are lots of characters I would have liked to see in some polls, but space is limited. That's just the way it has to be. Lets not whine about why He or She isn't in the poll, and just vote from who is on the lists.
And now, the Gamespot Ultimate Fighting Championship BEGINS :)

Also I think you should have a week of 'other' fighters and include games like Geatly Gear. cakeorrdeath
Yeah, I wish I could do a poll for every fighter in each game, but this particular poll is going to go on long enough as it is. I mean sheesh, there's voting for TEN fighting games for this one, I don't want a 3 months poll becoming a year long project. Sorry, but I feel I have to keep it to just 1 poll for each title. And yeah I'd have liked to see Blanka, Guile, Vega, Bison, and Cammy in this one. But cuts have to be made. I went over the possible contenders with Shungokustasu pretty extensively, working out the best way to narrow the list for candidates. It was a back and forth, give and take that took quite a while in preparing this.
I know there are plenty of characters who won't be seen in EACH title, just have to vote based on who is on the list.

Basically what they said. You had a problem with the Best Weapon poll being stickied, but have no problem with the Finals for this one being stickied (if it does, we'll see). So why no issue with this one but the other, poopinloop?

Like I said before, limited space. Especially with Street Fighter series which has a roster of something like, 30? 40? And there's still 9 other Fighting games to go. Yeah, I like Cammy too, also have to give good mention to Vega, Blanka, Dhalsim, Guile.... but, what can I do?

You serious? Bison is a Big Boss that cheats to win. But he is awesome in CVS2.

You should have picked nothing but originals... except Akuma, his story is big enough to stay... Yun's is not. spinecaton
Honestly, Yun is the best character in this poll. Hands Down the best all-around character made in a Street Fighter series.
Seems this can't be emphasised enough. LIMITED SPACE in the polls, and still with 9 other games to go through for this contest. From this point, shungokustasu is authorized to "SHURYUKEN" anybody who asks why this or that fighter isn't in the running :twisted: :twisted:
The best player is guile I have owned in the arcade and online with guile he's my ace. No poll is complete without the god of sf. Only other character that comes close is akuma.Â
I use Ken more than any other fighter. But, I'd had to go with Akuma. If you ever read the comics, Akuma pwned both Ken and Ryu at the same time without breaking a sweat.
