Btw, 2 other games that I think will visually stun people are Heavy Rain and Alan Wake. Not only do both games look like they will play wonderfully, but they also offer some of the most gorgeous visuals.BioShockOwnz

If those will be released next year they will probabbly have great graphics .

simply put GT5 will be the graphics KING at the end of this GEN. 09, 10, it doesnt matter it will win. However Its stupid that people still argue the PS3 versus 360. The devs say they are equal graphically with good and bad advantages and disadvantages that never really make a game look better or worse on either system. How many fanboys are going to continue to argue such a mute point? Look at the games. The only thing that wins in graphics between the 2 is teh art direction and talent of the artist making the visuals. this is getting utterly retarded. MY OPINION GT5.

Out of the 2 I give the edge to KZ2. RE5 looks phenomenal, but GG's engine is doing some awesome techniques (unprecedented animations, lighting, and post-processing).

I think it will be an overall battle between:

KZ2
RE5
GT5
GoW3
Alan Wake
Heavy Rain
Uncharted 2

In those screens, RE5 looks better. In videos, KZ2 looks better. One thing I'm certain about is that RE5 has the most detailed muscle arms I've ever seen in a game, and the sweat certainly looks smexy.BioShockOwnz

RE5 will look better. Killzone is a FPs....it will have to sacrifice it's graphics for the speed and the amountof enemies it will have and everythign else going on. RE5 liek RE4 is much MUCH slower paced 3rd person game which can pour more energy into it's graphics(Like Gears of war).Kratos_OMEGA

RE5 without a doubt there is a lot more going on,more detail,just look at the screenshots that TC posted and his signature..the amount of things in RE5 is insane,and everything is so detailed and the character models are high polycounts,and those saying uncharted 2 what if it backfires on you and the game barely looks better than the first one or just the same?McdonaIdsGuy

KZ2 I guess. RE5 will be infinitely better though.

Whilst RE5 has some nice textures, killzone 2 really shines in all the effects and destructability it has, thats what eats up power.

I think KZ2 is just a whole different level then RE5 sorry. I mean any game could look good if you brought the gameplay down to a crawl or no effects at all. And like others said RE5 really doesn't have a whole lot going on to hold it back. But then look at what KZ2 is accomplishing with the amount of animations, particle effects, lighting, debris, amount of enemies on screen, its just crazy what GG is pulling off with KZ2 for sure. Not taking away from RE5, but credit is due where credit is due.

Once again there is more to graphics than just textures ladies and gentlemen, let your mind wander when looking at KZ2 footage at just what is taking place graphically in that game and then you'll get the picture :)

but out of that poll, I would have to go with KZ2. The HD-footage looks almost as good as Farcry2 maxed out on the pc(if not better)

I really don't understand all the hype surrounding Killzone 2. I know I'm going to get flamed for disagreeing with the huge number of cows there seem to be on these boards but bring it on as I will stand by any point I think is correct, and that is Killzone 2 looks average.

Textures:

Firstly, while there is the odd high resolution patch of mud, the majority of the games textures lack bump/normal mapping. They look flat and low resolution. There are tons of other games out there where the character models have tons more detail going on. Upclose the soldiers in Killzone look very slightly blurry and do not have sharp high resolution textures.

Lighting:

Yes, it's got good lighting, i.e. it's got good HDR. The light casts realistic shadows and the shadows are almost always dynamic with soft edges. Definitely well done, but also done many times over in other games. What I disagree with is that there are no other games out there with such an advanced lighting engine. Even COD4 had this type of lighting in-game.

Animation:

I think this is the one area this game really succeeds with and I also believe this is why the game is so hailed as the graphics king. I think the time and effort put into the animation of the soldiers movement gives the game a very natural flow and people see this as great graphics without analysing all the other areas. Combine this with very well implemented motion-blur and you get away with having poor textures.

I'm not bashing this game because I'm some lemming, hermit or sheep, but simply because I think this game is receiving far too much hype for it's graphics when they are not in my opinion the best out there on a technical level. I believe Uncharted, Gears 2 and even parts of MGS4 are much more deserving of the crown.
