(Poll) GS UFC - Round 5: Darkstalkers

The Killer Instinct poll is concluded, with Fulgore as the winner. We now move on to Round 5 - Darkstalkers.

This mega-poll, The Gamespot Ultimate Fighting Championship, comes with the help of Shungokustasu, our resident blackbelt gamer, who provided his expert consultation on the genre :) We're going to determine the fiercest tournament fighter and with so many titles, this poll will be running for 12 WEEKS, 1 week each for 10 preliminary rounds and 2 weeks for the Finals. The games being covered are;

Street Fighter, Mortal Kombat, King of Fighters, Killer Instincts, Darkstalkers
Virtua Fighter, Tekken, Dead or Alive, Soulcalibur, Super Smash Bros

IMPORTANT TO READ

Since each poll has room for only 5 slots, only 5 of the top scoring winners will proceed to the Finals. To determine that, the number of votes each winning fighter gets will be compared and the 5 lowest are eliminated. So not only does a fighter have to win their poll, they have to have more votes than the other winners.

Also lets get something else out of the way. Most of these games have a bigger roster than these polls can hold, especially SF and MK. So yes, there WILL be fighters missing from the polls. Believe me, there are lots of characters I would have liked to see in some polls, but space is limited. That's just the way it has to be. Lets not whine about why He or She isn't in the poll, and just vote from who is on the lists.

This game was around the same era as later iterations of Street Fighter II (like hyper fighting), Mortal Kombat, King of Fighters, Killer Instinct. I'm pretty sure it was a Capcom game. If you ever saw any of the Marvel comicbook fighters, it had that same art style. This game had the unique monster theme with all the known archetypes - aside from those listed in the poll, there was a Creature from the Black lagoon, a Frakenstein Monster, and a giant Squid, and so on.

Go to youtube and do a search for Darkstalkers video game (the video game has to be there or you get anime results). Some of the results will say "Vampire Saviors" which is the Japanese name.

If there's a 1st place tie in a preliminary round poll, I'll extend it till we have a winner. So ONLY ONE character per game will be in the Finals. I'll be looking at the votes only amond the winners in each round to figure who proceeds to the Finals. If theres's say 3 equal top scores, it doesn't matter, they each get 1 of the 5 spots. In the case of there being a tie for who fills the 5th spot, then I check to see who had a higher percentage vote in their poll as a tie breaker.

I had it planned that way before this contest launched, I wondered if anybody would ask about it, lol :D

Good thing you're not in a rush there Spartan as there is still 5 more weeks to go plus another 2 for the finals. I wasn't kiddin around when I said this was my biggest poll ever, heh :) Just so you know after Darkstalkers, we move from the 2D fighters to the 3D fighters with Virtua Fighter, Tekken, Soulcalibur, DOA and SSB.
