POLL: Most overrated game series ever...

As this generation of gaming winds down, we have all come across some revolutionary titles. Practically overshadowing the lesser known game companies and their amazing games, the top video game series have went above and beyond in giving you the best video game possible. However, with great games can come great hype, so which one of these massively popular game series deserves to die because they are milking the cow well after the cow is drained, which one of these games is riding on blind hype alone, which one of these game series is the "Home Alone" Movies to videogames?

NOTE: These are ALL good games, but one of them has to be at the bottom of the list. I KNOW There are gamers who don't buy into the hype of some of these games, and I KNOW there are gamers that can see some faults in these games. So, pick one.

its tough to choose because all those series are amazing

[Edit] im going to say zelda and the reason why is they continuously re-use the same bosses and the same items. I have to admit the first zelda on n64 was the best but nintendo has to get more creative because it is starting to get repetitive

It's not that those people don't like Halo, but just because a game is good doesn't mean it's not over-rated. Halo is great, but the hype for it is for some godlike game, which no game is.

Combat Evolved and Halo 2 both lived up to the hype, even though Combat Evolved wasn't really hyped. Anywho, I would call nominations for both GOTY and SOTY and winning Best Multiplayer of the Year living up to the hype.

If you go back to the release of MGS and compare it to the other games, you see how revolutionary it was. There wasn't a "stealth genre" before it.

Same thing with GTA, they made "games where you're the bad guy" mainstream.

So for me it's Halo. It don't think it brought anything new to the table.

FF and Zelda has been going downhill.

Okay, not hype, but the post-hype, whatever that is called. I feel that it's more than a game of Halo's quality justifies.

Anyone who said GTA is a cry baby WAAAAA :cry: because zelda sucks only OOT was good and they are bitter about that.

Halo. I do understand that people can like it, I just don't understand how so many people like it. I find it so incredibly boring and tedious to play. Not enjoyable in any way. I guess that is what I get for starting with Wolfenstein 3D and Doom II back in the early 90's.foxhound_fox

after playing fps's on the pc,halo just cant stand among them.
