So, how does the Wii's graphics stack up against the old classic pong? Discuss.

We have to compare with the times. You can't compare a thirty year old console to the new one.
So Wii is obviously inferior to the 360 and PS3. While PONG was WAY superior to... ... ... Pong was way superior to card games as card games don't have any technical features. Pong wins..
Sadly, Pong is more pleasing to look at than 75% of the Wii games.

O NO Pong is winning, hurry sheep and vote!
Let's see... Pong displayed 3 pixels for the paddles and one for the ball.
The Wii is capable of displaying more pixels, textured polygons, and many colors.
PONG! LOLOLOLOLOL.
[QUOTE="MetalContra"]Last time I checked pong was a game and the wii is a console so your looking like a dumb fanboy by even suggesting the comparison. So, how does the Wii's graphics stack up against the old classic pong? Discuss.

I love Nintendo Games, this thread is obviously for kicks and giggles.
Pong WAS a console. In fact, It had more than a few iterations...bryehngeocefPOng isnt a console if it only plays one game  and if you think pong is a console then the portable mr game and watch WWF games in the 90's count as "consoles" as well

Take a look at those things. They are consoles. I'm old enough to have had one...and still do. It's huge.

There NOT console they play only one game and you know what that game is ??? PONG they were designed for PLAYING PONG and no other game. Juts because there huge dosent make it a console either lol.Who cares if Pong is winning? All that says to me is that there are a lot of idiot fanboys around here. If my favorite company's console was a 700 dollar money pit with vanishing exclusives that few people seem interested in I'd probably make juvenile polls like this too. The next wave of Wii games, while not as spectacular as the 360 or PS3 graphically, are looking very impressive, especially when compared to the current wave of Wii games (which were largely designed using GC kits).
So yeah fanboys, laugh it up while you can... the Wii is showing no signs of slowing down. Enjoy your overpriced console and your ridiculous irrelevant topics.
[QUOTE="D_Znuhtz"]I find it absolutely hilarious that Pong is winning in the poll. :lol:mahjustinyeah me too.... 68% Pong, 32% Wii.... hahaha TSHBO by Pong!It just shows how many wii haters there are. :|

I wasnt trying to make fun of the Wii as much as I was making fun of some of the silly topics in this forum. Come on people lighten up a bit.

I'm certainly laughing at how bent out of shape you are over Pong beating Wii

Haha, agreed. This is some true evidence of SW being serious business.

There's a corollary relationship between the desperation of Wii-haters and the age of the consoles that Wii gets compared to.
First it was GameCube games. Then we went back into the N64 and PS1 era, but as the Wii steadily increased in success, that wasn't enough, so SNES comparisons arose.
Now that we're all the way back to Pong, I think it's safe to say that the detractors are in rout and Wii has won the war for hearts and minds.

This is why I drew this comparison, because I saw Wii getting compared to PS1 and before that xbox and so on. So I just went ahead and went back all the way to the days when there were only 11 pixels on the screen at the time.
And dont call me some fanboy/hater. I wanted to buy a Wii but no store in town had one and I am not camping out for one, or waiting in any kind of line.

I saw the same comparisons you did, obviously, and that's what I was riffing on.
For the record, I didn't call you a fanboy or a hater. The first sentence is very carefully constructed so as to not refer to any person or group of people as Wii-haters, merely imply that they exist and are desparate.
