I think these terms are stupid.big_pimpin_99
Exactly what I was thinking. I am a gamer enough of this elitist crap, a game is a game and its how you play it that counts.
I think these terms are stupid. There can be mainstream games, but if I play Fifa all the time does that make me "hardcore" or "casual", because that game can be played in a fashion that would be associated with "hardcore" ( ie tactics, transfers) or can simply be played for funbig_pimpin_99Or on legendary. Or the last few challenges in challenge mode. FIFA can be nigh on impossible at times.

They have low self-esteem and they just label themselves as real gamers to make themselves feel better.
The way I see it, anyone that has signed up to a gaming forum has crossed the line and are no longer casual.
I wouldn't say that I am hardcore....I think addicted is a better word
I can easily go either way. Highly competative games, Tactical RPGs, and puzzle games often have me playing like a hardcore gamer, yet I love playing other games in a much more casual way.
In the end, I game for fun, and if a game becomes more like work than fun, I know I lost the reason that I game.
I enjoy the standard "Normal" difficulty campaigns, and alot of multiplayers. I dunno what you'd call me.
I guess "recreational". That what my "zone" is on Live, lol. I enjoy hardcore and casual games, but I only play for fun.
Nothing worse than bumping into a kid that is a "hardcore gamer" on the PSN or Xbox Live and listen to him talk smack like I care.
