Where are they at? Well, they are probably the best position they've been in this entire gen. They've got a new Mario Coming out, a new Metroid, a new Zelda, as well as games like No More Heroes 2 and Monster Hunter. They've also just released Wii Sports Resort which is a huge hit for them, and it is a really fun game to play with people or just mess around in.

Not exactly sure what you're trying to ask, but if you're looking for what I believe the state of Nintendo is, I would say it's good. Despite having by all means a pretty lackluster year or so, the success of the DS and Wii is still pretty high, and the company appears to be rounding out the year with some pretty big titles. Then, you have next year coming quickly, which already features a Wii lineup that is stronger than it's been since 2007, if not better. Meanwhile, the DS just doesn't seem to want to lose any momentum whatsoever, and it's pretty much a given that it'll continue to see some great titles in the coming months.

So yeah... I hope this is a reply you were looking for. If not, oops! :P

I think they're about to go into outta space with Wii Pulse Moniter. As stupid as it sounds I have no doubt it will be a major success and eventually Wii will overtake PS2 in sales with time to really overtake it. Hardcore releases are a little slow and core Nintendo titles are mostly unchanging. But that besides, Nintendo is still going to the moon.

I honestly don't know, in here its all about PS3 vs 360, the Wii is an after thought in this forum. I remember at first everyone I met wouldn't shut up about the system, now I don't hear much at all. My girlfriend has a Wii, we spend more time playing Viva Pinata co-op together than her playing on the Wii.

She's really gotten into playing on the 360 with me, she's even gonna buy two copies of L4D2 for us, I love that girl!

Metroid Other M is confirmed for 2010 and Miyamoto said Zelda is slated for 2010 at the earliest.

Yeah. Nintendo has changed to a new way of announcing games. Before they would announce a game a couple years before it released, nowadays, the usually announce the game the month before it releases.

Pre-rumored price drop: Nintendo is in great shape, despite slowing sales of the Wii. The DSi and Lite are still selling well, and have a constant flow of great games. The big hitters on the Wii are coming out soon and next year with Mario, Metroid and Zelda all represented.

After-rumored price drop. A $199 Wii means a boost in sales, putting Nintendo in an even better position, as it will counter the price drops by the other companies.

In the short term, they're doing peachy. Wii Sports Resort is doing good, causing Wii sales to pick up a bit, and they've got a friggin' 2d Mario coming out, with a dramatic focus on local multiplayer no less. If that game just has inspired music unlike it's predecessor, it's going to make a killing (oh, well, it's going to make a killing anyway).

Long term, I'm a tad more skeptical. They've officially denied the price drop, which is good and consistent with their strategy thus far - if there will be a price drop, Spring 2010 would be the correct time, not now. On the other hand, the latter half of this year has seemed like the company is shifting gears big time - you'll notice pretty much purely surefire "safe" titles coming out in the short term.

They may have tried to go in a user-generated content direction big time, and then Wii Music and Little Big Planet flopped.* Now they have to re-ignite the Wii Mania, and the only way to do that is real, honest-to-goodness content, and lots of it, preferably making good use out of Motion Plus and the Vitality Sensor. The one-two Mario Punch will be a decent, quick way to warm up the engine. In what direction is Nintendo shifting towards, we can thus far only assume (and hope for the best).

*This is made worse by them essentially putting one quarter on the shoulders of a user-generated content market test and an online-focused GameCube game. When the audience wants motion control, local multiplayer and professional content. Bad, bad idea.

Sony : So which game should we re-release with a higher pixel ratio.

I wonder what's better, a whole new control method thata ctually effects gameplay ... or more pixels.

It stops short of a flat out denial, so I'll still be wondering as head towards October.
