Only system I have ever had die since the SNES (including handhelds) is the 360, but to be fair it came back to life somehow :P. It RROD'd after freezing all the time.
The only console I have ever owned that has died on me would be my NES that came out in 1985. I only needed to add a 72 pin connector and it was all fixed:P I never had any problems with the any other consoles though.
The only console that died I owned was the Atari 2600 and it may be caused by inserting a defective game cartridge. I never had problems with other consoles and handheld systems that died since then only problems with the Atari 5200 controllers and dirt problems on the NES that prevented me from playing games to where I have to use a cleaning kit.
My PS3 just died a about a week ago, my Wii broke, and the hinge on DS lite broke. I have just had bad luck this gen.
My cousin had his Wii start scratching his disc, his 360 RROD, and tonight his used 60gb PS3 won't show video anymore. He's had tough luck this gen.
Nothing has died on me. I take care of my stuff :)SilverChimeraSo you have some method to prevent hardware defects? Tell us more! :o

Yup.. I had my PS1, PS2 and XBox 360 die on me. Only my Nintendo consoles have lasted forever without any problems.
Did you know what you are doing is illegal?Yes.
Also, I won a PS2 back in 2003 from my former employer. Brand new, Disc Read Error right out of the damned box. I bought another at Wal-Mart, switched the scannable serial number that shows from the bottom of the unit, through the box, and then returned it for my money back and a working PS2.

sadly its not safe to buy used xboxes half the time...people will buy a parts only 360 online then go buy a new one and switch the number or just the whole case then return it...ALOT of people do it the new slims are suppose to be harder to do though
Yes.
