I think Surround Sound is a very important part of next gen gaming.

(though i may upgrade to 7.1 in the future)

Audio HELPS A LOT

the fact that the Sub shakes the house, whem im playign some games its like a small earthquake

in some games 5.1 really helps, games like Bioshock it helps a lot you can tell if the maniacs are to the left or right or behind you. also if you like games like condemned you will crap your pants, its all about atmosphere if a game requires it you are really missing out if you dont have it.

Yeah, I got a 5.1 HTIB a few months ago to prepare for GTA4. I vowed I would not play that game with 2ch TV speakers. I love it.

Some games have terrible audio mixing though... Half-Life 2 comes to mind. Halo 3 has amazing 5.1 sound, as does GTA4 and Bioshock.

Yes. But I don't have the space to set them up properly so all of the speakers are in front of me.
