Polls on System Wars are more like a Fanboy Census

I realized that this whole poll thing is really counterproductive unless it has nothing to do with the Big Three and more to do with the industry or System Wars standards or something that we can all agree upon.

Most polls that can be cleanly divided into the three platforms will usually see cows siding with Sony/PS3, lemmings with MS/360, etc.

Is it not true that we should take all poll results with a grain of salt here in System Wars unless it's up front....such as "are you a cow, hermit, etc?"

On a side note, if you are an independent or a hybrid, or if you vacillate, speak up in this thread.

There are threads that have attempted to solve the mystery of how many of each group are in System Wars, and by that how reliable the results of each poll will be.

The results may surprise.

I remember a poll a few weeks about, it had something to do with GOTY. I remember people where distinctly voting for Crysis over Halo 3. If I'm not mistaken, a good 50% of those votes belonged to bitter fanboys, who have never played Crysis (great game by the way), and just dislike the 360 and Halo 3 altogether.

It's also superior to the PS2 in a huge number of ways. Busting out the PS2 out of the box....I was looking at The Bouncer. Sure, 6 months later, there was a total torrent of awesome **** to play, but that first bit was pretty weak. I really got to love Armored Core 2, though. That franchise sucks totally this gen.

Let's talk the PS3 though: standard hard drive, standard HDMI, high-end graphics, you can partition your hard drive with a fully functional Linux OS, Blu Ray support out of the box, support for any Bluetooth or USB device on the market, including USB mouse and keyboard, fully functioning internet browser, wi-fi+ethernet out of the box, Playstation Store, Remote Play....

Come on, dude. You may be looking at the market too hard, but this box is pretty awesome aside from the sticky price and moderately good/bad library. At least compared to the PS2, which had hardware reliability issues out the wazoo and zero internet support...lots of failed peripherals, too.

At least I can completely justify the Playstation 3 as offering a package of at least as good or better value than its competitors. And at least everything's cohesive now. Firmware updates help a lot, too. I've got upscaled PS2 games, I can upscale DVD's....it just goes on and on. PS2 was basically an NES with better graphics, memory cards, a DVD player, and DVD-9. If it hadn't sold like it did, and if it hadn't been supported late in the game with the awesome slim PS2, it'd be pretty phail.

Honestly, I wish I owned Crysis and Halo 3 if just to say that I've played them all the way through. I've only played the Crysis demo and I've only played Halo 3 multiplayer/watched the singleplayer.

I try not to dog on Halo too bad, but I found the franchise underwhelming. That's what I mean though. I have a huge number of biases. I like the Wii and the 360 a lot, though. I put the PC on a pedestal and I have a tendency to zealously defend the Playstation 3.

Anyway, if we could all extend the olive branch at least once in this thread.

system wars is a joke, most people there just defend the games they've played and dont look the other way at all no matter how wrong or right they may be.

this is why though games like cod4 get goty and crysis dont, since there is no bias towards it based on what system its on and alot more players get their hands on it and therefore vote for it even if its the only one they have played out of the nominees.

I've played Call of Duty 4 and it doesn't even really deserve the nomination. I've put 25 hours into the multiplayer, but it was an agonizing 25 hours and I'm not even sure why I did it.

its getting ridiculous that a game can get away with being so short and yet sell heaps at the high price it is. and yet if so many morons keep on giving it as much acclaim as it has gotten why the **** would they try and do any better?

minus its length it was still way too linear, stalker is a better game.
