LCD. You save so much money, and yet, get an awesome HD experience. $400 for a 32 incher. :D

Just curious, is one supposed to be better than the other for gaming? I might be getting an HDTV later this year (prices keep going down :) )Impex

I researched for months and came up with this.

Plasma has the richer colors and still has the "possibility" of burn in.

LCD has no posibility of burn in but the screen gets noticeably hot which is why its not mounted on my wall. I cant remember which has the truer black colors but I do know that the dark colors on my lcd are toooo damn dark... :shock:

Plasma is the best picture. I own the 32" 1080p Sharp LCD, which is great, but no LCD can compare to a Plasma's picture, with the exception of the Samsung's latest glossy screen LCD's. I'm restricted for size so I had to get LCD, and I get the best one available. Plasma equals better and much more vivid color, unbeatable black levels(LCD shows light through black, and is washed out compared) and faster response times. Some plasmas can burn in, but I bet you wouldn't even notice burn in on today's plasmas, it is only a fade, it takes an all white scene to maybe pick up the light gray burn. Oh, and plasmas are very heavy and use more electricity which is a slight drawback.Taylorgc2004

i dont know, but i am getting a 32 inch 720p Phillips HDTV from Best Buy. I have a friend that works there and he gets half of. so im paying him 100 bucks extra for me to use his half off.

Anybody can guess what that tv basically is?jg4xchamp

Anyway I have a 30" Samsung LCD(720p) that I got for $700 which gives a bright clear picture:D, my dream TV is a 42" 1080p Sony Bravia:shock:

That being said, I game on a 30" samsung 1080i CRT.

Damn the blacks and colors are unmatched. I kinda wish it was a little bigger, but I can't help the awesome picture quality of a higher quality CRT setup. Only plasma and LoCS come close...

I think I game on the same one you do. Is it teh flat tube wide screen one? games look great on it. and it does a gret job of properly scaling wii games. crt's are extremely under rated, if you are getting anything 30" or less and have space crt is the way to go.

TX-S3082? (there was a few like the 79,80,82,etc...)Yeah it a widescreen flatscreen. I calibrated it too, and it's freaking unbelievable. There was some slight annoying issues when I first got it, but after spending a few mins in the service and then the picture menu's. It's incredible...HD flims look very much like there theatre counterparts. But thats why I love CRT's, they look very film like on a true source. The blacks and colors are so damn dynamic.

I'm a college student. I can't afford HD. I'm gaming on an old 24" CRT. It's so old it doesn't even have an AV imput. I'm running my 360 over coax. That just seems like a giant waste...Hoffgod

I feel you man. I'm in the same position as you, gaming on a 24 inch CRT TV because I'm a poor college student. While mine does have AV input, I think it's about to go as whenever I game or play DVDs on it I get patches of green, blue, yellow, red or purple on the screen.

I have a budget of $700 to buy a 26 inch LCD for my dorm. Any recommendations.

I game on my recently purchased 40" Samsung LCD (LA40M81BDX or something). I swear, i have never seen a picutre that even comes close to this TV in all of its 1080p glory. Much better picture than any plasma i've seen. I have my PS3, 360 and my PC (with 8800GTX) hooked up to that thing. All i can say is wow. LCD FTW!raynimrod

I have a 20 inch LCD PC monitor so i think im gunna go pick up a VGA cable for ym 360.
