I'll help the fanboys get started:
1. "buh Forza had damage from teh startz!"
2. "Only a TRUE "Driving Simulator" would have teh damag3!! All that other stuff like realistic handling, customization of every critical part in the car (gear ratios, etc.) all have nothing to do with realizms!!! it's all in teh damages!!!"
3. "PGR4 pwns this game graphically and damage wise..."
Well, Polyphony had a U.S. representative go to the PLAYSTATION Underground forums for a live chat. In it, someone asked about damage modelling. We all knew it was coming, but the rep said about how they're working on it already. He sounded confident that it was coming to GT5 final. He also stated to not expect GT5 final no early than Summer 09. A long ways off. Anyway, I don't have anything to back up my statement, but if anyone was in the chat and they saved the transcript, share it if you want. Just thought people should know not to expect GT5 no early than summer 09 and that damage modelling will be coming. This game, with damage modelling, will become one of the greatest racing games ever. How will fanboys counter this I wonder :lol:Albanian_Killa
not saying gt5 wont have damage, but you have nothing to prove your statement

I told you, I can't. If you were in the PSU chat with the devs, you would have seen it too. This is just for information, not to start up arguments. Something I thought people should know as there were only 300 people in the chat at the time.
Yeah, they said that about online in GT4, too. I wouldn't count on it until you see it working.lowe0
It was the freakin' PS2 for god sakes.

Come on...if that was true then you have posted this in the ps3 forum....... because you posted this in SW will lead anyone to believe you are looking for a response..
I hope GT5 will have a deeper impact system...it should..as it is right now the model is pretty weak..
They also need to implement a stronger online experience...The community in FM2 is second to none. From daily tournaments to the auction house..Turn 10 did a great job on bringing features to the genre that really pushed the racing sim to the next level in a total experience..
GT5 needs to at least do what is currently in the market place...FM2 is over a year old..and if GT5 falls short of what was standard almost 2 years ago(when GT5 is released)...that would be a shame

Look, you don't believe me, fine. I don't usually post on the GT forum a lot and I expect someone to have covered this there. Since this is another site, I thought "How about spread the word?". I gave this to people who wanted to know what GT5 would be like. Take it or leave it. I don't care. I agree with the part about the online btw. GT5 needs to have great online features. Whatever. Take it or leave it. I don't care. I know what I read. Whoever believes me, rest assured that Polyphony is working on bringing damage. For those who don't, wait and see when the final version arrives and I say "I told you so". Whatever, peace.

Last time I checked the PS2 was capable of online play.

The director did say something about damage modeling in the last IGN interview[QUOTE="masiisam"][QUOTE="Albanian_Killa"][QUOTE="Kirlok"][QUOTE="Albanian_Killa"]Well, Polyphony had a U.S. representative go to the PLAYSTATION Underground forums for a live chat. What is your deal??? Look at who posts what...
My response was driven from a reply you made to another poster....At the end of the day i hope Polyphony not only brings "damage"..they better bring a much stronger on-line component ...

That post wasn't necessarily directed to you. It was pretty much directed to everyone who doubted me. I don't know how you could fee linsulted when I said "Take it or leave it, I don't care". Whatever, if you felt insulted, sorry, I didn't mean any insult towards you.
I thought we knew both of those things?Wasdie
Well, first, we knew it was going to be next year, but now we know that the earliest to expect it is around June.
Secondly, we just knew that there were talks about damage modelling and how it could come to GT5 Prologue. Damage modelling wasn't totally confirmed. I think this confirms it a lot. It's just reassurance :)

Yes that would be sad,but as long as the graphics are "Wowsers" and they add a little extra feature, the casuals will eat it up.Shouldn't they have been working on this since they wrote the original on the PlayStation rather than wait around knocking out dull uninspring sequels?TTDogGT had no competetion, thank goodness Forza came. Now they have to start adding new features to the game, not just updating the graphics.
