Second thread where no one has actually read the transcript of the interview. He does not laugh about a 2010 release.

He laughs about it being 2 yrs from the date of the interview - meaning Oct 30, 2010

Therefore, it is not confirmed that GT5 will come in 2009....just that it won't be as late as Oct/Nov 2010. It could very well be anywhere from late 2009 through early 2010.

From the actual transcript, and not the headline:

Me: because of what i know is that the team still didn't think even of targeting a release date for GT5 and to be honest i dont believe GT5 will come before 2 years which is a long time/

Gran Turismo 4 was set for December 14, 2004 and then it got delayed to February 22, 2005 ... I won't be surprised if it gets delayed. I had my copy of Gran Turismo 4 preordered in 2003 and the EB Games ran out of business before the game came out so I never got my money back lol.

Well maybe the polyphony who were quoted as saying it might not even make 2010 should get their information right then.

Seems to me this game has been indevelopement for over 3 years........they still have no approximate street date. Honestly I would believe a 2012 release date before I believe a 2010 release date.

Honestly there are better games than this if you ask me. I'm looking more forward to Killzone 2 and God of War than another racer game that may or may not even be better than Forza 2 that was released years prior.

I believe the main reason this game was delayed is because they wanted to get the full spec of cars that are comin' out in 2008-09. There are awesome cars that are coming out in the next couple of years and I'm pretty sure Poly wanted the fans to experience it first-hand on their game.

I laughed at the part sooner then expected. GT5 was expected to come out A LONG time ago. I do not think Poly is in a position to be laughing at any type of dates.
