Portal 2 is finally and officially listed on Electronic Arts' website, EA.com. Included in featured listing are pricing details such as a pre-order option. But none for the PlayStation 3.

Obviously, if the game is listed on EA's site, it is then highly likely that they will be the ones publishing the game. That's not "officially" confirmed yet, though, and by "official" we mean EA calling out the marching band, rolling out the red carpet and unfurling that humongous banner up on the side of their building blatantly proclaiming "We are the publisher for Portal 2." Or, a discreet listing up on their official website will do.

he release date is still enlisted as "TBA 2010", but at least we have a window as to the year it will be released. As for the pre-order box:

  • Xbox 360- $59.95
  • Mac – $49.95
  • PC – $49.95

See what's missing? Right. No mention of the PS3 anywhere. Good for Mac, though. Still, we don't want to say that the coffin's been nailed shut on this one. We'll keep you updated as soon as we hear any more updates regarding this.

$60/$50!! I hope it's not going to be 5 measly hours. I think it's crazy that Portal 1 is still $20 when it's only 2 hours long...:x maybe they think 3 extra hours is the correct conversion for $50. I love portal, and I hope it's worth the price when released, but I just don't see it happening for some *odd* reason...

I read the new GI cover story. This is no 3-4 hour Portal. This is Portal with a Half-Life 2 budget.

Portal was a test. This is the real deal.

That would be good. I was worried about the price on this one. I loved Portal but it was too short. For $60 it better be much longer.

Wooo I was worried I'd throw my money in the blue hole and get half a game back from the yellow one. Probably my most anticipated... not sure how in the world they'll top the original, but Valve are no strangers to surprises.

Can't wait for this, I have Portal: Still Alive from XBLA - incredibly fun, and equally frustrating. Think it might be time to try it again.

It's a full blown game, but it doesn't have HL2 budget, Hl2 costed like 40ml dollars to make

If it's Valve and it's priced full price then it will be worth it. Never been disappointed with a game of theirs before and I doubt I will start now.

alot of that probably went towards the engine valve has been using said engine for years with minor updates with each new game they release so development cost will be as high until valve makes the source engine 2.

No. $60 for a full game. Like someone above me said, Portal (1) was a test, Portal 2 is the real deal. Better graphics, more gameplay advancements, and I believe theres Co-Op as well...

But handing $60 over to THQ for a rehash of Undisputed this fall will be a-ok though right?

Aye, I agree. It's sad that I'm wanting Portal 2 to be similar to Half Life. What do you expect when they leave us HL fans hangin Not to beat a dead horse, but they should have not made L4D2 and put that money and manpower towards HL2 Ep 3 (or Portal 2 if that means we get HL sooner)

"The trial by fire is over -- the safety net removed. Portal's endearing antagonist, quip-filled dialogue, and mind-altering gameplay are proven commodities. A rabid fan base is established. Now it's time to up the ante. Instead of merely hoping for the best, Valve is banking on Portal 2's success. The fiercely independent studio is investing more time, more capital, and more risk into a standalone, full-price retail release."

"With its augmented length, fresh puzzle elements, polished presentation, and new co-op campaign, Portal 2 hardly needs to be tucked into a value package. From what we've seen of the sequel, this is a fully featured game that will be right at home amongst other high-profile titles this year. Due out this fall, you won't have to wait long to spend more time with GLaDOS. She can't wait to rekindle the relationship."

I can't wait for Portal 2! :D

Interested to see where this goes, more interested if the Portal concept can remain interesting for an entire game.

I am in the same boat here, I want to play Portal 2 but I also wish they stop making it, and focus on episode 3. Maybe the rumors's gonna be true, Episode 3 = Half life 3 with a new engine. Which is not a bad thing, source engine still looks great, but it's starting to feel outdated
