Indeed it does. I'm glad Valve isn't making it a whole stand alone game though. Throwing it in with Episode 2 is just right.

If you haven't already played it, download Narbacular Drop now! It'll give you a vague idea of what to expect (in a glitchy freeware kinda way).

I've been waiting for this game, for oh so long. After Prey failed on all aspects with it's portal system, Portal is in the drivers seat!

Some genres are, some genres aren't IMO. Some like racers and sport games need a good kick up the ass, because there is only a trickle of innovation occuring there.

Exactly, the developers were hyping it as something unique and whatnot. But it was a really worthless feature.

yeah portal and left 4 dead are 2 games i'm especially looking forward to because its not like the same trash that's released every other day. i wonder how complex the levels will get? :shock:

There hasn't been a game that's really revolutionised a genre for quite a few years.

I beg to disagree. RAIN for the 360 has completely revolutionized the stealth genre by introducing vampires to the mix. Can someone explain PORTAL I haven't found much about it besides it being packed in with the Orange box thing.

I also think Team Fortress 2 will beat out Halo 3 in the Multiplayer Department...i mean that game looks great, especially with the cell-shaded graphics.

Huh? I don't really see how making the protagonist of a stealth game a vampire means that the game is innovative.
It wouldn't be adding much to the genre - and stealthy vampires has already been done in Vampire: Bloodlines (and probably many other titles).

As for an explaination of Portal - we don't really know what the story is, yet. You appear to be a test subject for a government facility, being trained to use the Aperture Sciences Handheld Portal Device - a 'gun' that can create Portals, allowing you to circumvent traps, transport objects, and generally throw yourself around rooms at high velocities.

Wow that was the lamest episode EVER.
