Do you REALLY think its XP/perk system is that original? I agree it makes the game more enjoyable, but it's a feature borrowed from RPGs.

Then again, that's how pretty much all innovation works nowadays.

Anyway, I don't think COD4 is that great, but I'm mainly a single-player gamer. Its campaign was too short for the story it was trying to tell. It should've had at least a 12-hour campaign and two more combat POVs.

Sorry but smoke effects , backdrop vehicles and random bullets shooting in the air isnt considered "intense" by me. not in a game..... the gameplay is dire linear.Meu2k7

thats what i ment, i really didnt get a chance to use it much before i reset but you do know the desert eagle is modeled after the m1911 except its 50. cal bullets vs. 45. cal in the 1911

I don't understand the hype at ALL. I played only the multiplayer beta on 360, it got boring real fast, and I played through a bunch of the single player but I also got bored of that, never finished it. The AC-130 was the peak of the game for me... I guess some other parts were ok, but overall I found the game to be uninteresting. I definitely wouldn't call it intense. I've had much more intense moments in Bioshock.

I enjoyed CoD 3's campaign much more, and I even had more fun with multiplayer.

Here all you that think COD4 is something speciel, watch this and see if you feel the same way after watching it.

The Orange Box and Bioshock were awesome. We hermits have just been there, done that with Call of Duty 2. We want new stuff now, just like everyone else.

The only good thing about COD4 is the upgrades in multiplayer, and since BF3 is said to have a huge customazation system riviling the amount seen in MMO's....I think its fair to say that BF3 will completly destroy COD4. Simply based on the fact that its gamplay is far less generic and standard.

*and before you say that BF3 got the idea for customazation from COD4...the past BF games also had it, though in lesser amounts.

Me too, well the last MP game i played and had lots of fun with was SOCOM. But that was tell i played SOCOM 3...oh god that game was horrible.

So colorful blue and gold weapons aren't garbage either? I thought everyone was saying COD4 is "realistic" yet they tack on some Halo colored weapons as unlockables and it's "revolutionary"?

CoD4 is overrated, there's no other way to put it. It plays like CoD2 with some new skins and the "revolutionary" leveling system is lifted from games like Battlefield 2142, America's Army and Rainbow Six: Vegas. Thats not to say CoD4 isn't a good game, it has some solid (if unbalanced) multiplayer and some interesting campaign missions. But people give IW far too much credit.

Also I find it laughable that people call CoD4 a tactical shooter. Go play SWAT 4, Rainbow Six 3: Raven Shield, Operation: Flashpoint or ArmA and then tell me CoD4 is tactical.

I find part of that true actually. When you think about it,the game tries to create a more exciting atmosphere by throwing in random smoke and bullets everywhere,but in the end it works. Whenever I play this game I just get giddy with excitement.
