Predict the most overrated game of this year

what games you think will be most overrated games this year?

heres i think most likely will be

Mass Effect andromeda: Its my number 1. its going to be extremely overrated because its first ever next gen mass effect game. it will barely RPG more of cover shooter and will gone open world. it will be more dumbed down than mass effect 3. but it will recieve too much of 10, critical acclaim from various critics. i predict its undoubtly most overrated game this year.

Uncharted 4. I think many people (and fans) will dissappoint by it but critics will still give it 10. i see at this stage this franchise become stale.

HOrrizon Zero down It present as next big thing at E3 but looks absolutely nothing

Dark Souls 3 i found nothing special about dark soul games and this one looks more of same. but its "HAAAARD".

Mirrors Edge catylist: The first game was mediocre at best. second game might be improvement but still looks bland and dull. since its EA it will recieve tons of critical accliam.

and obviously whatever next COD or a Ubisoft game releasing this year too.

@ghosts4ever: Mass Effect probably won't release this year, and I hope you're wrong about Mirrors Edge Cataylyst. But as for me, I haven't really thought about it, I guess from critics the new CoD that was announced from Infinity Ward, and from users either Uncharted 4 or Horizon. Sony exclusives seem to be hyped to the moon and back and told to everyone by fanboys that it's the second coming of Christ when they play it, just to find out when non fanboys play it, it's usually not that great.

Probably going to be Uncharted 4. Not that it won't be a good game. It might even be a great game.

But it's a franchise that gets way the **** more pampering than it deserves. Average shooting with terrible platforming and "puzzles" that shouldn't even be classified as such. But wrap that shit up in some stellar production values with some killer set pieces? "OMG GAME OF FOREVER ARGGHHH!!!!".

That said, I'm actually interested in playing. When they showed that somewhat open ended jungle area gameplay I was sold.

I'm sure Uncharted will be a good game, but it's not going to be all that it is gassed up to be by fans, who will definitely call it the GOAT, because it's a PS4 exclusive.

Yeah, pretty much. Still looks fun though.

And while I'm not a big fan of games that are mostly sold on spectacle, it's been a while since I've played a game like that. Plus it will be a good reason to use the PS4 lol.

Yeah, man. Like, usually they're not my thing, but some well done ones (Uncharted 2, God of War 2) can be legitimately fun to play. And yeah, after all the open world fever we've been having lately (with the open worlds being pretty damn bad, except for maybe 3-5 examples), it'll be good to play a more focused game for a change, too.

And I hear you, lol. Even I've mostly stopped playing mine these days (and I don't even have a gaming PC to distract me!), and mostly started to favor Wii U- and this is without me buying Yoshi, Xenoblade, or Super Mario Maker! If I had those, I imagine the Wii U would be completely monopolizing my time right now lol.

Oh, Uncharted 4 hands down. Everything they've shown of that games looks like more of the exact same linear/scripted garbage from the first 3 games and critics and fans will eat that shit up and ask for seconds.

Honestly, I'm not sure critics will this time- I'm sure cows will do their best to convince us it's the best thing since sliced bread, but I think diminishing returns will hit this game hard. I'm seeing an 8/10 score for it here on Gamespot, for example.

It apears that many people think uncharted 4 will be overrated. this franchise should have ended at 3 a trilogy but they want to milk it more. plus UC4 is only last nathan drake uncharted game. we will see other uncharted games with different protagonist.

Zelda. The fans spend years hyping it, then spend the rest of the time after slagging it off and complaining that it wasn't as good as a previous one. And all in all, many of the things being done have been done better elsewhere. It thrives off its reputation game after game.

Uncharted 4 for sure. That franchise is perhaps the most overrated series ever made. On paper it's mediocre to terrible in every way yet it's lauded as one of the greatest franchises in this industry.

I mean people went nuts for the behind closed doors demo of the game at E3. A demo that barely let the player do anything at all and is perhaps one of the worst gameplay sections shown at the show. It's just terrible.

I actually think UC4 will be underrated. The hammer is about to come down on UC4. It could actually be a well crafted game better gameplay balancing set pieces and pure gameplay best actual story from the series, spectacular showcase of dynamic physics. Great multiplayer for its genre that will just be tossed out. Its not like ND is safe here at gamespot look at their last game lol.

i think Uncharted 4 may be overrated. But thats just coming from someone who only played the first two and was too bored to get the third one.

One game i hope can deliver is No Man's Sky. I'm really wondering how its going to turn out.... it seems so unique.

No he WAS going to buy it but not for it as a game but as a principle that a console should have ONE release that I should get this year, keep trying.

Looks incredibly boring, it just doesn't appeal to me.

Maybe when the PC version is £10 but no more than that.

I see this getting around a 7 at most places. Star Fox isn't a hyped series and this doesn't seem to be a big leap from Assault on the Gamecube.

Usually Bioware games are overrated, so I'll go with Andromeda.

How do I know if an unreleased game is overrated yet?

Uncharted 4, the whole Gaming media gave Uncharted 3 perfect 10s and that games was only okay, exclusive usually get overrated, remember when Colin and Greg worked at IGN they handed out 9's and 10's to every PS3 exclusive game that came out

Maybe. The game has a lot of attention though since there hasn't been a proper Star Fox game in like ten years. All the more reason why it could potentially disappoint. Personally, I think it look as bad as CoD or FiFA: it's literally the same game as the N64 (which i wasn't a big fan of, loved Star Fox Adventures on the Gamecube a LOT more) with prettier graphics and a forced motion control gimmick.

DOOM. I'll dare to be different here and risk some flamage and go with a game that I sincerely hope hits a home run. However, it's been my experience that games with the legacy and lineage of DOOM always seem to disappoint a little.

A 9-10 prediction would be the safest bet all year.

Mass Effect will get the typical "Itsh shafishstacated right mature!" lark, but be a big shit stain that stinks, due to being shit.

Star Citizen. I really think most gamers in general will realize it's still a space sim and sim's aren't always that much fun to play. I also think Mirror's Edge 2 won't live up to any hype.

If Rockstar releases a game this year, that game. Otherwise, Uncharted 4 will get treated like there is nothing wrong with it, but I'm sure it'll be a good game. The Legend of Zelda in typical Zelda fashion will get way more credit than it deserves, but it'll also still be a good game at least.

So, Mass Effect 4 I guess. Bioware's characters are entertaining, but that's been the only thing consistently good about their games since Gen 7 started. None of them have good game mechanics, all of them have shoddy and bland level design, more often than not they tell a pretty predictable plot, and all things considered I don't know if I really want a Mass Effect universe game where it's following the events of 3. I would have preferred a small scale story, that took place before the reaper stuff in that universe. What being a spectre was like or a citadal cop and such. Maybe let you play as a Turian or something, but that would be cool and interesting, Bioware doesn't do that. They do lame and boring.

I agree. they make most boring games in the planet. there is not a single rockstar game that is not boring. they even ruined max payne 3.

Probably UC4 for pretty much what everyone else has stated. I don't think it will be as bad as UC3 (at least I hope not) but it won't be as good as UC2 and TLOU.

Based on my experiences with the first two games, I would say Uncharted 4. I'm genuinely puzzled as to why people place these games on any kind of pedestal. They don't even come close to the lexicon of the word "great".

Mass Effect Andromeda I'm holding out on, but I don't like how they're basically hitting the reset button on the universe instead of creating an entirely new storyline within it.

I wouldn't say they are always boring. I do like aspects of Red Dead (namely John Marston), and GTAV plays well enough, Max Payne 3's shooting is top notch, but yeah Rockstar tends to put more stock in fluff. Their stories which most of the time are garbage (sans Red Dead, and that has filler), their over produced cutscenes (ruins any sense of rhythm for Max Payne 3), and the early days (PS2) when their games were "fun" they were "fun" in a really silly way, in the way people gas up Just Cause 2. Fun to dick around in, but playing the proper missions? nah.

GTA4 is aids though, that's a special brand of garbage from them.
