I'm hopeful this "Demo" is simple un-optimized at this point..

Switch is a handheld and will never match PS4. Comparing them is like trying to compare 3ds and Xbone. Completely moronic.

Agreed! ..but 20fps? That's not even playable IMO.
I feel that this was rushed, without trying to iron out the game for a much steady FPS in Portable mode. There is no excuses for that, but for Square Enix to make a quick buck with a new system launch title. Although, when docked, it at least looks cleaner than the Vita and PS3, but of course that PS4 has more horse power.
If I want Dragon Quest Heroes 2 I'll probably get it on PS4 and wait for Fire Emblems Warriors to have a Musou game on Switch.

Be glad you're never touching Breath of the Wild at all then.
I'd prefer the X1/PS4 version. I just dont think switch will keep up with main stream 3rd party.
X1, lmfao. Oh please, xflop ain't never getting a quality game like this.
It's only going to get worse folks. Switch will have to have games made directly for it to be viable.

Evidently some people will choose a switch only as a gamer, I am told.
JAPANIME GUYS!!! YAAAAYYYY!!!
between that and zelda one thing is becoming apparent. the switch is not a 1080P gaming machine for big games. they probably should stick with 720P with a good dose of AA when docked and leave the AA off when undocked.
Pretty much. Not even sure whey they went for 900p with BotW, would have rather had a better frame rate.
no issues here but the fact the switch gets ports of ps4 games is amazing ... also everyone knows games in the beginning of a systems life span only get better n better ... people aint seen a game designed from the ground up for the switch ... if mario is any indication then its one sexy compact system

Ya know, I've never noticed FPS unless they drop to zero. So stuff like blight town in dark souls is one of the rare times I noticed a frame rate problem. Normally I don't really care or notice that sort of stuff. Perhaps this is my own ignorance on the subject. Never sure what to look for exactly. 20fps is playable, not optimal, but playable.
I would have thought that the 10/10 launch title and record-breaking hardware sales could also count as a prelude of things to come.
But hey, I guess we'll have to wait and see how it all turns out a year from now.

If the frames drop to 25 or below..I notice it. ..to each his own.
To me this makes the PS4 look worse.. not literally.
But the fact that we have a Handheld device that is somewhat comparable.. is just a testement to the Switches potential.
But hey, f*k it because Pro/Scorpio will play pointlessly at 4k right?
Get a f*cking PC and get with the times.
The game is ugly anyway... how this isn't running 60 FPS on PS4 is clearly a sign of failure of the developers... more than any of these platforms.
Switch. Jack of all trades master of none. I wont be making the switch until switch 2.0 and even then probably not. I got the only game I care about which is Zelda. I predict his machines sales will PLUMMIT as soon as folks realize this is more of a gimmick than the Wii U.

It is. TBH last gen was the worst for this style of game - when they dropped from 60 to poopy
20fps? That's sad, man.
That's Hard Drivin on the Mega Drive levels of sad. And about the same frame rate.
@nintendoboy16: breath of the wild after day one update does not have frame rate issues, granted it's still not 60fps, but it's very stable after that update
On a side note, I hate these games. They are just a shallow waste of opportunity. Especially the nostalgia kick when I hear that soundtrack and realise I'd rather be playing Dragon Quest VIII. Not sure that would run on Switch though.

Nah.
60 fps is ideal. I can deal with 30fps if it's stable, but anything dipping into the 20's has got problems. That's like GTA IV on PS3 bad. It was tolerable at the time only because of the scope of the game, and hey it was GTA. But the "motion judder" was always immediately noticeable. That devs so often accepted framerates in the 20's was one of the worst things about last gen. Unfortunately this is the style of game that is almost unplayable when the framerate is choppy, think Bayonetta on PS3 and how much flak it took for framerate issues.
This guy points out that the Vita even seems "smoother" because it is at least "stable" at 25fps. It's bad enough to fail to hit 30, but when it oscillates betwen 22 and 27 and 30 that is going to be noticable. The Switch version should have been tweaked in whatever way to make sure it at least hit 30fps. I mean unlike Vita, the Switch could have had a perfectly playable version. Hell, it could have run at 60fps if they scaled it down to Vita level graphics at 720p.
The saddest part is, the game is cartoony. Nowhere near a graphical powerhouse. Imagine if those came along!
But they wont, on switch. And you will tell yourself thats ok.
@MBirdy88: The switch is running at 20 fps with a lot of details missing and simpler geometry, the ps4 version is running at 60 fps with better textures and geometry...its not close.
Yes, but this is a bad port if PS4 drops below 60 in combat, which indeed it does.
Besides.. by that criteria peasants are lyers as well, as "Missing details and sub 30 FPS" is "Close" when cows/lemmings compare to PC running at 60 FPS on full detail.
these goal posts... they like to move.
I look at the switch's graphics and while its less, its impressive for a handheld, very.
on a related note DF have done an analysis of fast RMX and compared it to the wiiu version. quite a solid upgrade. they also mention that the current firmware is causing an issue with the GPU so there is some potential to see an improvement when it gets fixed. it probably wont be huge mind but its something at least.
