RTX5080 became widely available in Canada, but it looks like no one is rushing to buy them because of this guy she told you not to worry about, Radeon RX 9070XT:

@R4gn4r0k: Sure, it would be nice if they could improve too
Right now they're trying to spin off "non core" divisions and their foundry business is bleeding... hopefully with their new management they can come back stronger.
Ok AMD, time to kill the 5080 with the RX 9080. Time for team red to finally win the high end market dont fumble this.
The 9070XT is only really available for more than a few seconds at $300+ over MSRP. AMD already fumbled

Sucks to live in Europe 😝
Almost all RX 9070Xt models are available in Canada rtn

Plus the prices are not set by AMD but based on your country's tariffs on electronic imports. Your price will be set by your retailers depending on how much they had to pay to your government to import the stuff
@ivangrozny: I live in the U.S. While I haven’t been trying very hard, I’ve only had 3 9070XTs in a cart at any time, for an average price of around $800. I’ve had a 5070Ti in a cart at Best Buy for $999.99. I never pull the trigger because I don’t like paying above MSRP. It’s like paying scalper prices, except it’s the OEM’s doing the scalping 🙄

MSRP is like the founder edition price lol. The price actually depends on the AMD partners manufacturing' costs. AMD doesn't make those GPUs, its partners do. And each vendor sets its own price. So the price will vary, but it's usually never like MSRP because the partners need to make some money too. So, the price of 100 above the MSRP is normal and not greedy. The elite brands might have over 300$ over msrp like Supreme, etc. It's all depends on the manufacturer brand.
It also depends where the brand is coming from, China or Taiwan. Chinese brands will have higher price now since 25% Trump's tarrifs and all. Taiwan brands will be cheaper. And Canada is not at trade war with China, so normal prices will be over here.

AMD already said they're not gonna make high end cards anymore which is a shame
Yeah, AMD stated they're dropping out of the high-end GPU market and only doing mid to low range GPUs from this point on. Intel on the other hand is more friendly towards to the lower-class GPUs. But Intel will never reclaim the CPU crown from AMD. This is the reason why Nvidia has no competition on the high-end market and they can price the GPUs however they want now.
I haven't bought an AMD in about 15 year years, give me a solid reason and I'll jump ship.
yea I was in the same boat and I went back this generation. seems to be going OK so far.
the last AMD card I had was the ATI 5850 which launched in 2009!

Honestly, unless you need a GPU right now, don't buy anything. It's all crap.
Anywho good to see prices falling but it's still all comically overpriced. The demand is there for a 9070XT at 600 bucks or a 5070TI and 700 bucks but the market is not capable of supplying it at the moment. More demanding customers are willing to pay 1000s for that same silicon and production can't ramp up any more in the short term.
Rumour has it Nvidia are going to use Intels fabs to produce their next gen gaming GPUs. Another rumour (many rumour I know) is that Intels 18A process is actually looking pretty solid (though I don't know if Nividia plan to use 18A specifically).
It will only improve though if we can get more fabs working around the world and have competition in the fab space. Also if the political nonsense could be smacked on the head, that would he helpful.
