Pro Evo will annihilate FIFA this year

A week or so ago i made a thread about how disappointing the new FIFA was, based on the demo recently release. Well, yesterday i downloaded the PES2008 demo and good lord, EA are in for a nasty holiday season. And believe it or not, i say this as someone who's never liked Pro Evo and often claimed it to be over rated.

Not any more. Whereas FIFA hasn't changed one bit, Pro Evo has been given one hell of an over haul. The graphics aren't mind blowing but they've improved substantially. The animations are absolutely incredibly, but in their realism and the sheer number of different animations you'll see in just one game. Everything is more realistic, especially the crosses which are now more difficult to line up perfectly.

It's just an all-round amazing game, and has forced itself onto my must-own list for this year with ease.

Anyone else play the demo yet? :)

I know the pro evos are better than the fifas, but do they also sell better than fifas? I know sales don't determine a games quality but this is aimed to your "EA are in for a nasty holiday season" comment. Hopefully it will outsell fifa though, might make ea try harder next time.

Fifa has been trash for a while now, but i actually thought Fifa 08 had some intersting features, and might actually challenge PES.

But Ive got to say, the demo knocked back such idiotic ideas: It looks and plays substantially better than last years offering.

Gotta feel sorry for the FIFA team , its seems theyll forever be eating the dust of the mighty PES.

Did you get the Pro Evo demo on Xbox Live or PSN? I've played the FIFA one on my PS3, and wasn't that impressed.SolidSnake35

I had high hopes for FIFA 08 as in all honesty, i though 07 was better than PES. PES last year, on the 360 at least, was a lazy game which didn't really improve upon much at all. FIFA was a complete overhaul and really seemed to outshine PES in a number of ways.

EA couldn't keep it up though, it would appear. As the fifa demo is quite literally identical to the last game. The menus, the loading screens, the graphics. Everything is just the same. I dont know what they're thinking expecting people to pay money for it and be impressed.

PES on the other hand has had a total overhaul.

I did hear something about the PS3 being the lead platform on PES08. If true, it should have a graphical edge or perhaps just a nicer frame rate.

That was just a rumour though. Wait for reviews i guess.

I hope the online will be good, pro evo 6 on xbox 360 online was rubbish and annoying u just feel you are playin a fixed game bec the stupidest things happen

Gotta be honest I deleted the FIFA07 demo after one play: pure trash, but I was under the impression the dribbling system in 08 was a new addition. If it was done with a little more polish, I really think it could be an amazing addition to football video games

i only once tried fifa, it was 05, and from that day my fingers never touched a fifa game again.

mm pro evo deff blows away fifa in every part except online 5vs5...

I just hope they fix the little bug in pro 2008 demo... the visual isgreat butneeds some polishing(the line that keeps moving)... or it must be my TV(I sure as helldont think so)

I hate it because it's identical to the last game in nearly every possible way save the new dribbling feature which is hardly revolutionary.

I didn't play FIFA from the super nes or genesis, it is always Konami's soccer games, ISS and PES AKA WE are far superior than FIFA, I downloaded the demo on PSN, they are improving but they are nothing like PES, PES has alot of features, I didn't play the demo but Im confident it will be better like always, Im checking PSN now and see if they have PES demo.

....and yes fifa is nothing next to PES AKA WE. can't wait for the next one which is probly goin' be next yr for us cuz we tend to get it late.
